News: Earl Thomas may not play?

Seattle beating us wouldn't put us in a position to want to be buyers standing at 1-2. They won't let ET leave for nothing. It wouldn't be smart to pass up a 2nd rd when you'll only get a 3rd rd comp pick if he leaves as a FA.

I think ol' Earl wants to be a Cowboy.
I just hope Dallas goes and stomps Seattle so they have good reason to go get ET on Monday.

I would be FURIOUS if we gave up all that. Jourdan might not fit our scheme but he’s a good young corner. And we need to play Rico to see what he’s got...not sell low.

All Seattle is giving us in return is (at the most) 13 weeks of Thomas.
Try 4-5 years for a Hall of Fame safety.

The drama of this whole situation is delicious. ET is paying hardball against a hardball owner. I can understand Seattle's owner not wanting to give in to ET, it sets a precedent that other players might try. On the other hand Seattle turning down a 2nd round pick, if they really did, is stupid. I can't remember a stand-off quite like this.

As half this board quietly slides underneath the nearest rock....

We told you.

You "told" us for the last 7 months, as in it was going to happen a long time ago, and it still hasn't happened yet. :muttley:

But they don't need him. He's a good player but they need a Tight End more than a Safety that will be overpaid in a couple of years. I like Thomas but go get a guy that helps this team. A Tight End helps this team more than a Safety
Who? Just draft one.

Elite players make differences. Not need players.

And you said it would never happen.

Soon, it looks like I win.

We have no bigger need than FS.............not even close

I'd trade a first rounder (plus Dak) for Russell Wilson tomorrow and he'd have a bigger impact on the Cowboys than Earl Thomas......and it's not even close.

We can bring 20 safeties to compete for the position ...

Odds are non of them will be HOF ... That includes 2nd round picks ...

HOF don't grow in trees, much less in the second round ...

You could find exceptions, of course... but I'm talking odds .

I would too ... Any veteran QB still in their prime , with superbowl wins, would be a steal for a 1st round pick .

Feel free to find where I said "never" and collect your prize. I'll wait.
Maybe not you. But several jumped in every Earl discussion and laughed at everyone and said this was silly to even consider. I've thought all along it was inevitable.

I'd throw in Dak, too.

They'd never go for it, but to say ET is our biggest need is hyperbole of a high order. This board is littered with our biggest question mark, and I'm not referring to Jeff Heath threads.
