I have to take my share cause I didn't think we could go to Seattle and win there. They definitely gave me a huge surprise yesterday and I'm more than willing to once again, as I did last night in the game thread, admit that I am so happy to be wrong about yesterday.

Yeah but they made you look right for the better part of 20 years.

So excuse me if I'm not interested in any lessons from the crowd who simply pick the Cowboys every week of every year.

lol.

You're my favorite poster here Star simply because you stick to your guns bro. I love that about you.

I thought the Seahags were going to murder us. My opinion was clearly wrong and I'm eating major crow now...but it tastes soooo goooood! Our team is finally legit. At minimum we are going to the playoffs.

I've been eating crow all season, hand me another couple of servings...

Hey for once the realists and homers can come together. Not sure how long it will last but I hope for a long time.

Till the next Dallas loss of course. Then we'll see all the sky is falling, this team tricked us, we're not nearly as good as we thought we were stuff.

It happens. With every single team in the league. Go to the Seahawks boards right now and their fans are tearing their team apart of the loss yesterday. It's not nearly as unique to the Cowboys fans as everyone seems to think it is.

See, this is exactly the issue. People have no trouble 'being honest and talking about the downsides' before, either. Only, people were wrong about the downsides and, it turns out, honesty doesn't mean all that much if people honestly don't know how to evaluate what it is they are seeing.

It's not about honesty or about the ability to be critical. It's about understanding what's really been going on--or trying to get to the bottom of what's been going on when you don't understand it--and discussing it in a rational way that's not directed by your emotion or by what it is that you want to see.

I agree completely, the NFL is a league of parity with teams hovering around .500 by design. Everyone sees the glass either half full or half empty and can give analysis/opinions through that lens. The issue to me is the people that ridicule other posters for having a different opinion. I have no issue with a pessimist. I do have an issue (for example) with the posters here that mock others only because of their arrogance - especially when they were saying the team sucked one day before Dallas beat the SB Champs on the road.

I'll take a bite of crow since I thought this defense was going to be really bad to start off the year. But on paper, it would be hard to argue why anyone thought that. I think a ton of credit should be given to Marinelli. For getting guys to buy into this system and to keep them playing hard. Shifting to a primarily man scheme has helped out the secondary. Getting Ro Mac to play up to his potential. Crawford showing something. Spencer playing, and starting to round into form. Melton being active. Our linebackers.

Our offense and specifically our commitment to the run game has also helped.

And we will be getting a few pieces back as well. Okoye is eligible to return this week. Then Lawrence and Brent. Also getting a couple injured guys back like Carter. This defense could be interesting coming out of the bye.

I'll gladly eat a plate of crow. I wanted to believe in the team but on paper going into this season I just didn't think this was a team that would be all that good. I had no idea our defense would gel and play with an attitude an effort I've never seen before.

But this has been the most fun I've ever had as a fan (too young to remember 90s dynasty). This is 20 years in the making for me and I'm going to enjoy every damn second of it. Finally have a team we can be proud of.

I appreciate the team more whenever they win. Each win breaks up the monotony of continually reading COWBOYS SUCK every day on my favorite Dallas Cowboys fansite. It feels... I don't know... kinda refreshing. Like drinking a Corona under the shade of an oak tree on a hot August day.

Dang. I see a sandy beach.

I didn't think we matched up well with the seahawks, and felt that beating them in their building would be very tough. I thought we had a small chance to beat them if everything went perfect, but that was about it. Well, we were FAR from perfect, and still ended up winning. This season has been a very pleasant surprise, and I will happily chow down on some crow. Crow is gluten free right?

Actually, Idgit there is no issue at all. I have been correct about a lot of what I have said regarding the Cowboys. It just so happens that this year I, and many others have mis-judged them and they are for the first time in a long time playing good mistake free football for the most part. I don't let my emotions get involved in my opinions. I just give an honest opinion good or bad (Keep in mind my opinions cover BOTH good and bad.. not just one or the other) It's just that when I have a negative opinion of the team or players the homers can't stand it and get offended. I can't control that part. One thing you can bet on is if my opinions are ever wrong, I have no problems admitting it as you can clearly see by me making this thread.

Hello. I predicted Dallas to lose big too. But if everyone had to eat crow that thought Seattle would win big, well, there wouldn't be enough crow to go around. Yeah, I was wrong in my prediction but I don't think my outlook was crazy in any way. The team surprised me. Coaches and players. A great job.

I hear ya. I'm eating crow not just for that but for also thinking the Cowboys would be 8-8 or worse this year. This team is FINALLY starting to get an identity.

Yeah, the frustrating thing is it always seems like we have talent and just never put it together on the field. Now we are putting it together out there and the team is getting fired up. I'm loving it!

Yeah but they made you look right for the better part of 20 years.

So excuse me if I'm not interested in any lessons from the crowd who simply pick the Cowboys every week of every year.

Threads like these and call out's are lame. "Homers" want the "realists" to eat crow, yet some folks have been calling for for help along the lines for years. Some folks have claimed time and time again that the game is built (and won) along the lines. Some folks have been harping on running the ball more, pounding the rock ans staying committed to the run (especially with a lead). We even had threads in the past, supported by many "homers," that running the ball does not lead to wins. Of course, they took this position because they support everything our pass happy HC does without question; they're sheep. If anyone should eat crow, it should be the folks who supported every move like moving up for a CB when we needed help along the lines.

You and others have been harping on the line for years. This is what you get when you get solid O-line play and put the big uglies in front of your franchise QB. These are the results you get when a fresh face comes in and gives the offense a new look and commits to the running game. Oh, and the top 10 CB we moved up for (a move which all the homers supported even though they preached OL all off-season) is out for the year and we're winning with solid D-line play which is pressuring the QB and stopping the run (which is the most surprising thing for me). Yes, some folks should feel vindicated but it's not necessarily the "homers," but rather those folks who were ridiculed for years for talking about the importance of the lines and marginalizing the CB position as a secondary need.

I'm still waiting for someone to start a thread and say RS (and others) were right and I'll eat my crow.

As someone who picked a 7-9/8-8 season, I'm shocked at the 5-1 start, and at the risk of sounding like a "hater", I don't know how sustainable this success is, but I'm pleasantly surprised with what I've seen the last few weeks. This team keeps overcoming adversity (that it largely creates on its own) and finding ways to win.
