Oh my, they can be great without Cooper. The Cowboys didn't want him. The coaches didn't want him. Dak didn't want him. That should tell you something.

Yeah. It tells me that you will invent things in order for you to feel better.

Nice try but he last caught a pass from Tom Brady was 5 years ago. Since then he’s caught passes from greats like Jared Goff, Davis Mills and Tyrod Taylor.

I don’t have to “try”. Those are facts. As inconvenient as they might be.

And if their offense wasn’t struggling without Cooper and a competent passing game, they might be 8-0 right now.
True…but I don’t recall in the past where this team struggles and Cooper doesn’t struggle with them lol. Typically he’s the main culprit with piss poor body language and ghost showings.

The guy the past few years has had some bad qb play lol. You can’t ignore that because he played with Brady five years ago for one season lol.

While the Cowboys are doing well, it’s hard to argue that wide receiver help wouldn’t be welcomed. Whether people want to admit it or not, the team is missing Amari Cooper, who is having a stellar season with the Browns. James Washington hasn’t played a snap for Dallas yet after sustaining an injury in training camp. CeeDee Lamb has been a decent WR1, but recently extended Michael Gallup only has 135 receiving yards in five games since his return from ACL surgery.

While fans have a right to be frustrated that the Cowboys didn’t make any moves to boost the roster’s WR corps, there were some trades that Dallas was wise to steer clear from.
I don't know that I'd call it a stellar season. Because if we go by that, so is Ceedee since their stats are pretty close to being the same.

“Body language”? C’mon man, that’s some serious nitpicking.

No I can’t. Just like you can’t ignore that he played with two if the greatest ever prior to that. It ALL COUNTS.

That should not be the case though. The stats should be heavily favored in Coops favor because of superior quarterback play. But it’s not.

Excuse me, but are you going off Cooper vs Cooks comparisons of right now currency ..or career ?

If it is career wise, hasn't Cooks played with not one ..but TWO of the very best record breaking all time QBs in NFL history in Brady and Brees ?

How would that be " superior" ?

He played early in his career with Brees and played one year with Brady. That doesn’t outweigh his last few years have been with Goff and Mills.

And if they still had Cooper, they might be great.
Well you should be good if you are about $12M over the cap. Amari was a good player here, nothing more. For $20M plus per year you need to be more. I’m glad we unloaded his contract and I’m glad we didn’t trade for Cooks. Team building in a cap world requires not just talent, but a positive talent to $’s ratio. Amari had the first but not the second.

It does count. It’s why his stats are as good as they are. If he spent his whole career playing with Davis Mills his stats wouldn’t have been as good.

I agree. But I think that stuff does matter. I just don’t see him leading men she we needed him to.

No, I’ll concede that. But on the other hand, he wasn’t having meltdowns about not getting the ball enough either. He quietly went about his business. Maybe a bit too quietly, but it’s better than the alternative.

could not i mean i could not agree more...why do you think Ceedee and Michael Gallup have 1000 yd seasons...because Coop was always double or tripled teamed...and Coop always got a 1000 yds

and he is younger than Cooks too
Yeah, well, except for last year…

And he wasn’t likely going to get 1,000 yards here this year either. Cleveland kind of has no one. He’ll get a lot more targets there than he would have here. Don’t be confused by his stats there and think that was going to happen here. For $20M per you need to be way above 1,000 yards and have a bunch of TDs too. He has only hit 1,000 yards in about half his seasons in his career and never hit 1,200 yards in his career and never more than 8 TDs. Very good player, but not great and he absolutely was not always double or triple teamed. Come on…
