Dak and Jerry/Stephen think he is elite. There's no way they would ever turn Dak into a bus driver and run an offense like with Rush. That's why it doesn't matter how great the OL or RB is, Dak will still want to throw it 40 times a game.
Sir this is the greatest post you've ever made in here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially when the RB is only getting minimal yards, the Cowboys don't know what to do, we panic and say he "it'll never work, let's just let our QB keep passing all game long!"

What question? Romo had horrible games. Is this some reason to say hey it's all okay because Romo played horrible games.
Don't worry about America's cowboy. Address my response to you. Do you expect that from Dak. Yes or no

Imagine fielding a good but not great defense and expecting Dak to level up in the postseason. No I dont expect Dak to lead us to a win vs a good team with a "good" defensive performance from our defense. If you do then my point about low football iq is accurate

The only way to dumb down the offense for Dak is to enforce the 5 Steamboat Rule for the opposing team.....sorry, the door opened and I invited myself in and drank all the beer when this thread was posted

100%. And a defense.

But we can't just gloss over the fact that Elway carried those teams to the SB multiple times without at least one of those things, if not both. Much different situation then what we got here.
Very true

Jerry paying Dak that ludicrous contract, making him the highest player in the NFL certainly does not mean that Dak is anywhere close to being the best player in the league let alone the best QB in the league.
People want that so much to be the case...it's not. And it's NEVER been. I am not sure why people cannot get that through their heads!!! I would argue Saquon and Derrick Henry are more valuable than Dak and a lot of other QBs...but QBs get the most money. Whether its Dak or anybody else. That's how this works! Now if you want to argue that it should NOT work that way....we can have that conversation. But I never thought that just because Dak made the most, he would have all of a sudden become the best!

Which Jerry found out real quick that paying someone money isn't going to magically transform them into something they are not.
He should have “learned” that with Zeke, but after 30+ years of pretending to be a GM, he still has not “learned” anything.

They tried to do the same thing with Romo in 2014. But they had a much better offensive line at that time with a better but not great defense.

We need a more Dak friendly team!

Lets start with the Cowboys offensive line of the 90's, the 1985 Bears Defense and the Rams greatest show on turf of the late 1990's to early 2000's.

Of course a new HC and OC because Dak obviously has issues with these guys too.

Please let me know what else we need to help the highest paid player in NFL history win consecutive playoff games.
And we might be able to be closer on a divisional round game.

Making the offense less dependent on a player you’re paying $60 million a year? We need more of a running game and the defense can’t be given up 40 points but you’re still going to be very dependent on your QB. Every team is which is why QBs are getting paid so much.

Stupid premise, Ed.

Of course Mike is capable of doing that. The question is, would Jerry and Dak stand for that? The answer is obviously no. Dak has tremendous latitude and influence here as the Franchise QB and Jerry Favorite. They're the ones determining this, not the head coach.
Well said. Chocolate Lab = big brain poster. This team is built to have Dak sling the ball, compile awesome stats and sell jerseys. It will be awesome and we will love it. Get the heck out of here with the winning strategies and get with the program.

They let Romo do it in 2014.

I'm not saying I have faith in those morons but there is precedence and it was Romos best year.

You can absolutely go run heavy and have the qb thrive.

Even Elway HAD to have a good running game to elevate the team. Most QB's do.
Elway was an absolute god tier QB. The man played in 5 superbowls. He is in no way shape or form comparable to our boy Dak. This post is an affront to the legacy of Elway and should be deleted.

It is like saying Paul George never won an NBA championship because even Jordan needed some help and had Scottie Pippen. Paul George is not comparable to Jordan. Dak is not comparable to Elway.

I personally don't think Dak can do what you are asking from him. In a decade of football, his best season has been his rookie year. The year where he had one of if not the best offensive line in football and Zeke to shoulder the load with him just having to do the bare minimum. As his load and responsibility has grown the worse the outcomes. As the caliber of competition gets better the worse the outcomes of his play.

Have teams with good but not great defenses won in the playoffs? I'd say yes. Probably not a superbowl but certainly a WC game no? Furthermore, I fail to understand how a bad defense is to blame for an offense literally doing nothing for over an entire half of football? Dak doesn't play defense sure. But he certainly plays on offense and affects the defense when he turns the ball over, holds on to the ball taking a sack and putting the team out of FG range and going 3 and out over and over again. Those offensive miscues and lack of any effective execution is hardly the defenses fault. I'd think that a self proclaimed "high iq" football mind would be able to understand this much.

Alot of words like a typical deceiver. I'll ask again and hopefully you answer straightforward like men do.

Yes or no.
I take it reading is hard for you?

If the defense keeps it close - yes. If the defense doesn't then I'd expect the offense to setup and at least try and make it competitive. This offense does neither. Is that "CLEAR ENOUGH" for you?
