He also played pretty poorly and that's a performance you can't have in the playoffs. He did a tremendous job by rebounding and fighting to get that win, but he's also a big reason why that game was even close in the first place. It's clear that Dak was out of his element in that game in terms of handling blitzes. He's a rookie and that sort of thing happens with first-year guys and I'm positive he'll learn to correct that with more experience. Once we got to overtime and we're able to run the ball again, I think that calmed Dak down and he righted the ship to lead us to that victory. Not a very good performance by him, but showed great poise in the comeback and didn't panic when he was having a bad game.
I'm not calling you out on this and this is for the strong Dak supporters in general, but you need to learn how to handle criticism when it's handed to him. He's not perfect and he has things to work on. He's also playing fantastic and smart football right now and I'm loving every minute of it. Dak has a strong work ethic and I'm confident he'll work to improve the things he needs to work on, like his footwork and handling blitzes better. Who knows if he's gonna hit that rookie wall or not, but if he does, it's nice to now we have a suitable backup quarterback in Romo that we know can step in and win football games instead of guys like Cassel, Weeden or Moore or god forbid Sanchize.
Whatever decision the coaching staff makes, I'm gonna back it and support it. I'm a Cowboys fan and I want to win and regardless if it's Dak or Tony, I will support the decision.
