I would put Romo in for a couple of drives.

Like a preseason.

I thought about this, but when do you put him in? Do you wait until the game is in hand and just put him in to hand off and run out the clock? I don't think you could substitute him in like we do Morris for a couple of series because QB is more of a rhythm position.

He's the dictionary definition of a dink and dunk QB, if the term were actually in a dictionary. But yes, let's just focus on that instead of the rookie in the Super Bowl part.
First time for everything. And no. He isn't. Wentz would be the picture next to that phrase.

So are you selling me Romo in the Super Bowl? THIS is the year right?

Honestly, you put him in and don't look back or don't put him in at all.

There is only one way this works out for Romo, that is, if he plays and the Cowboys win the Superbowl. Anything less and Romo will take the blame.

If they don't put him in and we don't make it to the Super Bowl there will be a ton of second guessing and hand-wringing. I honestly would not want to be in Jerry's, Garrett's or Romo's position right now!

So if Jerry wants a Super Bowl, he'll stick with a rookie dink and dunk QB who struggles without a run game, even though no rookie has ever won a Super Bowl?
Does this scenario also involve Jerry getting struck on the head with a large object?

Dink and dunk QB?

He's 4th in the league in Yards per Attempt. He's also apparently Top 5 in "air yards" according to ESPN Stats and Info.

If he's a dink and dunk QB than so is 85% of the league.

Yeah I mean exactly like preseason.

Start first 2-3 drives. Then out.

I think it's smart.

Dak is on pace to dink and dunk for 4000 yards. We're currently 3rd in total offense which is four spots higher than we were in 2014. Dak has the 4th highest passer rating in the league and has thrown 8 TD passes in his last 3 games. His TD to turnover ratio is 16-3. No rookie QB has even played in a SB and he has a legit shot at getting this team there if our defense can hold up and we can find a consistent pass rush by the playoffs.

Listening to 105.3 The Fan, they are torn on whether the decision to start Romo will be Jerry's, organizational, or Red's. Hopefully it is Red's decision to make.

Garrett and Linehan. And it will be based on how well Dak continues to play. If he plays every game like he did against the Browns, he'll start. If he plays like he did against the Eagles, Romo will be inserted.

Really? Fighting...and overcoming adversity? Leading a comeback vs a divisional opponent? Finishing the game with two clutch TD drives? WINNING? ... All in his 7th start?

He also played pretty poorly and that's a performance you can't have in the playoffs. He did a tremendous job by rebounding and fighting to get that win, but he's also a big reason why that game was even close in the first place. It's clear that Dak was out of his element in that game in terms of handling blitzes. He's a rookie and that sort of thing happens with first-year guys and I'm positive he'll learn to correct that with more experience. Once we got to overtime and we're able to run the ball again, I think that calmed Dak down and he righted the ship to lead us to that victory. Not a very good performance by him, but showed great poise in the comeback and didn't panic when he was having a bad game.

I'm not calling you out on this and this is for the strong Dak supporters in general, but you need to learn how to handle criticism when it's handed to him. He's not perfect and he has things to work on. He's also playing fantastic and smart football right now and I'm loving every minute of it. Dak has a strong work ethic and I'm confident he'll work to improve the things he needs to work on, like his footwork and handling blitzes better. Who knows if he's gonna hit that rookie wall or not, but if he does, it's nice to now we have a suitable backup quarterback in Romo that we know can step in and win football games instead of guys like Cassel, Weeden or Moore or god forbid Sanchize.

Whatever decision the coaching staff makes, I'm gonna back it and support it. I'm a Cowboys fan and I want to win and regardless if it's Dak or Tony, I will support the decision.

A point to consider.

You really can't dress Romo unless you are sure that if called upon he would be ready to play and to finish a game. We have several guys on the active roster that are definite scratches already, so we can't really afford to activate 3 qbs when we already have Chruch, Green, Claiborne, Nzeocha and Davis on the active roster but unable to play. At some point your depth means you can only go with 2 QBs being active.

Ok. So when Romo is on the sideline with his uniform on it's for the purpose of playing?

Great! Thanks Ed!

Every team we've played and beat was supposed to confuse Dak. Even if they do, he's smart enough and athletic enough to adjust .

Who told you that? I certainly haven't seen it said around here.

How many miracles have we had to win? From what I have seen we have been assertive on most of our wins. Far from miracles. Please explain.
I'll jump in for a comment...
Yeah. They've been mostly very impressive.

Still, all three division games were toss-ups though. Could have won or lost all three.

Well said ... the point is we're winning? This is what you say you want right? It seems that some are stuck on who's winning and how it may look rather than winning. Of course he's not perfect but his first 8 starts compare favorably to that of HOF caliber QB's including our next opponent. We've lost to philly at home for 3 years straight. The philly game BECAUSE of the adversity, was his most impressive game imo.

Just so everyone knows watch how Big Ben played coming off his injury last week. He was fully healed just out of sorts. We have the very real option of the QB displaying a game similar to the Steelers vs Ravens last week. I am like most will support whomever is behind Fred handing the ball to Zeke and throwing to Witten uncovered.

I don't think Ben was remotely close to fully healed. I don't think he'll be fully healed for this weekend's game either.
