Elite run game is more about the OL then an elite RB

I don’t think it’s that easy. Not when teams are overpaying our former starters that people claimed were ‘trash’. Connor Williams being the most recent example.
We shall see, but remember they still expect Tyron to start, question is what happens when he goes down again. Have to have a plan in place.

I am less higher on him then most, really like Mayer, Kincaid, Mustgrave over him. They all will be much better in the passing game. Mayer is the one I would draft in rd 1, the rest I see more as 2nd rd prospects.
Meyer is a big dude too. Notre Dame develops good pros. I would take him over Washington. Right now Meyer is my favorite to pick at 26. I just think a team will pick him before 26. We bring in 2nd reciever through free agency, use the draft for tight end, running back and guard I like our offense going forward with Dak.

And that goes back to my real issue.

This team continues to rely on the unreliable. And a decade-plus plan of keeping a group together at all costs that hasn’t won when it’s mattered most.

If that’s the ‘plan’, it will once again lead to failure.

Wilson never sniffed a super bowl when the Seachickens were counting on him to do it. Lynch and the D is what led to the two consecutive super bowl appearances.
And he was on his rookie deal.. Makes a difference..

He won nothing on his 2nd deal and Dak is like Russell without the championships.

Don’t care. I watch the games. Numbers and Data just make what’s clear what you’re watching blurry.

Dak’s not the guys to carry a team. He isn’t that type of player. You shouldn’t need charts and data to figure that one out.
“Don’t care” is what I expected. Carry on.

Yes, but we still need a high corner as well.

ummmm gonna say no thanks to that, put me down for no more line shuffling during the season please.

I'm either drafting or signing either a starting LG or a starting OT.
If you land the LG, TylerS LT, New LG, TylerB C, ZackM RG, TyronS RT with Steele, Ball and Waletzko battling it out for the swing.
Hopefully re-sign McG for back up G, or go with another option, preferably in house, like Farniok.

If we get an OT you have more options to work out in camp deciding who plays where.
That’s fine. But if Tyron is healthy he’s the clear cut best option at LT regardless of who you sign or draft.

At one of the most premium positions in football I’m going to give him a chance while also covering my basis with a solid backup plan.

Numbers are just used to make things blurry. It’s clear what Dak is and everyone knows it except a few homers that want you to look at some inflated numbers.

He’s been in the league long enough to know what he is. A Kirk Cousins.

Mayer is more of a plodder, no? Rather have someone who is dynamic.

If all you can bring is “I watch the games” and the eyeball test to the argument I think I’m all set here.

Back to the RB discussion.

We do but you don’t pick the 5th or 6th best cornerback when you have the choice of a top 3 tight end, guard, running back, ect….. then you end up with Taco and Bossman.

In an absolutely loaded CB class I do in a heartbeat. In a normal year CB 5/6 from this class is likely CB 3 or so.

The only way I consider it is if the TE / G is an elite, blue chip prospect and that ain’t available this year. (I’ve made it loud and clear how I feel about RB)

It’s really just homers clinging to the numbers now.

You know that right?

Out in the real world nobody thinks Dak is the type of QB to carry a team besides maybe half the cowboys fan base who have a false hope for him to do something he hasn’t done in 7 seasons.

I don’t think so…I’m one of the most neutral realistic fans you’ll ever meet. I call it like I see it and often times have unpopular takes against our players.

I never said Dak could carry us to a Super Bowl. Said he’s good enough to win one. But I also think there’s only 1 QB on planet Earth that can “carry a team to a Super Bowl” and this past season he had a better line and more weapons to work with.

Numbers will trump some guy’s opinions every single time.

I 100% think tape / film should be part of every players evaluation…but in 2023 when there is so much outstanding data / analytics available I find it incredibly short sided to not make data driven decisions.

Collectively…not cherry pick 1 stat but use a compilation of multiple to make opinion.

Try to do the same in the draft.

If a dude has NFL size / length, quality production, + athletic traits and plays in a good conference good chance he’s going to be good.

Absolutely! You should every piece of information that you can get your hand on in order to make the most informed decision possible.

People usually want to minimize numbers when they derail their argument. It’s a dead giveaway.

You are credible with your opinions of players in the draft. You went out on a limb with Parsons before the 2021 draft when most of the board thought he was Jaylon 2.0. What are your top cornerback for pick 26 and 58? I want to watch them at the combine.

Ya had me until you went with Tyron Smith at RT. If you’re ‘planning’ on Tyron anywhere, plan on line shuffling.
I hear ya, but until we get new players, I still consider him to be at the very least the 3rd, if not the 1st or 2nd best O-lineman we have on the team. Yes he's often injured and that's why he's my starting RT, not my LT. When he does go down, we know Steele can step in and be a very capable back up at RT and that move would be the least intrusive to the line.
