Tyron Smith has played in 17 games over the past 3 years!

He hasn’t played a full season since 2015!

To count on him as your starting left tackle is crazy.
OK, so if he gets injured you put Tyler back over there and start the OT/ G prospect you drafted at LG…or a FA vet.

I don’t think it’s complicated at all.

Look at the 2 SB teams, arguably the two best offensive lines in the entire league. The Chiefs did not give up a single sack against a defense that had 85 in the regular season. Biggest reason why they beat the Eagles, was cause they were able to run the football effectively. They did this with a former 7th rd running back, where they aren't picking up the 5th yr option on 1 they drafted in the 1st rd. Eagles run game was the best in the business, not only was it hard enough facing a read option QB, but they were able to keep him clean all season long.

If the Cowboys want to return back to an elite running team, it's about shoring up their OL first, replacing Zeke will a legitimate option to complement Pollard. I wouldn't hurt to use Dak's legs as well.

With the news yesterday, Tyron coming back, Steele ahead of schedule, I would target either Ethan Picoc from the Browns who was rated the 5th best center and played under Scott/Solari in Seattle or John Michael Schmitz in the draft. I fully understand Biaz is improving and just came off a pro bowl season, but we need an elite Center to reach that next level.

As for running back, I think with a deep class, we can find a very good prospect somewhere on day 2. Charbonnet, Bigsby, Evans all would be excellent fits.
Eagles have resigned their players so they are making $- but their LT was a 7th round pick, their LG was a 3rd round pick, and their C was a 6th round pick

Chiefs starting C was a late 2nd, RG was a 6th and RT went undrafted. Their other 2 starters were brought in from outside of the organization.

I know OL is important, but people’s bloodthirst to continue dumping major resources into the OL is way overblown. We need a starting LG, that’s it. And that positions isn’t hard to find an above average starter. We have plenty of talent on our OL, you can’t keep spending major resources in 1 spot. The rest of the team needs addressing too.

The Cowboys are not going to even remotely consider moving on from Biadasz
Agree 100%......In fact, I'm expecting them to sign him to a long-term deal. Former 4th round pick not starting but playing at a high level. I admit I think they still had reservations about him up to 2021 but I think he took care of those this past season.

I agree. I think you keep throwing darts in the draft at the OL but it doesn’t need to be a OL full of first rounders.

I think that’s easier said than done.

It’s not a knock on Biadasz as I think he’s solid and continues to improve.

My question comes from just how much you pay for ‘solid’ and does another team make a big money offer because they can, like the Dolphins did with Connor Williams last year?

That’s only 1 of the 3 options I’ve provided…you still have 2 available so not crazy at all.
When your initial plan involves counting on Tyron Smith being your starting left tackle, I think it’s crazy.

You don’t rely on proven unreliable. After 8 years, the truth needs to be accepted.

OK, good thing I provided 3 options and essentially 2 safety nets.

Yea, that and an elite running game isn’t even necessary in todays league. You just need to run the ball well.

There are zero examples of “elite” RBs being the reason their team won the super bowl the last 10 years.
Elite RB/slot combos (like Bijan) are more valuable.

Marshawn Lynch. Delete that zero.

Lucky for us .......Center's salaries are on the low end. Right now I'd put him top 20 but below the top 10. Just think about the leap he's made from a 4th round pick to starting, you have to keep him IMO. Here are his numbers from this past season........his weakness, pressures

  • Offensive snaps played.............1066
  • Pass block snaps.......................576
  • Run block snaps.........................490
  • Penalties.....................................5
  • Sacks allowed..............................0
  • Pressures allowed........................15
  • Hits allowed..................................3

We’ve seen better RB prospects get drafted early…again, zero have been the reason their teams have won the Super Bowl in the last 10+ years.

Lynch wasn’t drafted by the Hawks and was signed as a FA. He made between 2-7 mil per year with them…not 10/15+.

In that Super Bowl he rushed for 39 yards and averaged 2.6 per carry

Nah, I think I’ll keep it at zero.

Agree, don't have to use premium resources anymore.

We’ve got a great run blocking OL. We don’t need an expensive RB to create…we need a cheap RB to just do his job.
Cheap RB typically don't help as much as a great RB. Just take Bijan and run the ball down defenses throats.
