It is hard to argue any QB would have performed as well against the 49ers defense that year than Eli. The Giants offense had 1 TO that whole play-offs.

The Giants were the 25th ranked scoring defense going into the playoffs, their offense was 9th in scoring.

Of course both sides put it together, but you can’t say Eli wasn’t elite that play-off run.

The best way to measure greatness in QB is how would we measure them without the championships .

Eli won 2 super bowls, and has never been a top 10 QB. Oh, they put him there following the 2 super bowl wins, but he quickly dropped down. How in hades do people keep falling for this crapp?

Actually Eli has been in 4/5 pro bowls, as we know each side gets three so he was in the top 10 a few times and.......he is number 8 all time in TD passes and number 8 all time in yards so he's bette than ya think historically speaking.

It’s not all of their fault. The media and our society promote it to such extremes cause it sells . So many fans are casual. They either don’t watch all of the games or catch the highlights . So much attention is placed on the winning teams .

Very true and thats why all the "Elite" QB talk is funny, QB is literally the position most dependent on others for performance. The diference between "Elite" and good usually has nothing to do with the actual QB play but the situation at hand.

I also say Archie play, I didn't see the same guy you did, I saw a guy throwing far more INT's than TD's, try 173 to 125, he was barely completing half his passes, so....???

Yes I know, but Archie played 13 seasons only made 2 pro bowls. None of his numbers are good. 173 INT to 125 TD.....ouch!

Almost all of these NFL teams are the same. The league is designed that way. They want parity.

The guy who touches the ball every play makes the biggest difference. Playcalling as well.

The role of a QB is massively important, having a elite QB like Rodgers, Mahomes or Brady gives you the edge in those important moments, those moments or games, in which you can see the differences between elite and good QBs, but nevertheless with the development of the game, with the way players have athletically development, you need all pieces to do their job. Look at the last Super Bowl. Do you really think Brady would have won his 7th ring without the Bucs defence chasing Mahomes the whole time? No chance.
