Elite to Great QBs win Superbowls

Do you remember when Tampa won with Brad Johnson. Against the high flying offense of the Raiders? I do. Tell me. Who won that game for Tampa? Was it Brad Johnson? Or Warren Sapp and company?

Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers consistently lose in the playoffs. To teams w/ D's.

You'll also notice at least 17 of those 21 SB winners had top ten scoring defenses. The great Brady's SB winners have had one 6 of 7 times.

I said QBs win championships and the defense is on whatever ride the QB takes them on.

There are a few exceptions but it’s an offensive league.

The Cowboys defense is more than good enough to win a championship with. We need our QB to step up.

if that were the case some good QB not great have won SB. Russell Wilson when they won the SB was not a top QB, he threw very little but the Seahawks defense and Lynch got them to the SB and won it. QB position will get you beat faster than any player on the field if his play is poor but no QB has ever won a damn thing on their own. QB does not have to run the routs and make the tough catches WR do. QB does not block for himself and if they do not pick up the player in front of them then the QB is on his butt all day. Defense is just along for the ride? lol you really believe this garbage. Denver with Von Miller and Demarcus Ware did a hell of lot to help Manning get a SB despite the fact Manning did not play great. Explain why Aaron Rodgers has 1 SB? what he is not great enough?

Terry Bradshaw was not a great QB and he won 4 of them, while great QB's. He has a 51,9 comp%, a 70.9 passer rating and 212./210 TD/INT....all those numbers are terrible,

Russell Wilson was on a rookie deal. The Seahawks defense is one of the few exceptions to the rule. I mean bad QBs win sometimes too. Consistently elite QBs win.

TB is like the Browns are right now. Stacked. Put Mahomes/Stafford/Wilson/Rodgers/Herbort on that team and they are instant super bowl contenders. Hades, they'd prolly be super bowl contenders w/ just decent QB's like Ryan, Cousins, Allen, etc...

Great QB are a vital and important element but not all of it as you so accurately spelled out above .

Too many great and HOF QB’s didn’t ever see a SB or even play in one.

Does it enhance your chances , of course but not the absolute answer.

And many HOF QB wouldn’t have been inducted if they weren’t on great teams .

Which is why we haven't sniffed a super bowl since 96. Jerry does not understand this, and has consistently passed up O and D linemen to draft WR's, CB's, and LB's. And an occasional DE. Elite QB win but winning it all takes a lot and more than just the QB which is why Rodgers last 1 was 10 years ago, He has the elite talent but he is not getting them over the hump by himself. Nor has Brady, there is a lot of talent on that Tampa Bay team and while Brady is critical for him he still needs those guys who have top talent to make the plays, you throw a 5 yard pass and the WR takes it to the house I think a lot of credit goes to that WR

Again....not knocking anyone. Just saying it took more than just Eli to win those super bowls. The Giants had a top defense that was just as dominant. They gave up just 14 points per game through those 2011 playoffs. Eli played great, but i'm not sure I would say he won that super bowl for the Giants. If I had to replay that game and was given the choice of swapping Eli out for an average QB or swapping out that Dline for an average unit you better believe Eli is out of there.

It is hard to argue any QB would have performed as well against the 49ers defense that year than Eli. The Giants offense had 1 TO that whole play-offs.

The Giants were the 25th ranked scoring defense going into the playoffs, their offense was 9th in scoring.

Of course both sides put it together, but you can’t say Eli wasn’t elite that play-off run.
