Passing:

As someone already stated, Winston has allowed 3 sacks in 1000 snaps, for comparison, Anthony Davis allowed 8 in the same span.

Rushing Stats:

Chief's Rushing (Jamaal Charles was the leading rusher for the AFC):

Attempts Attempts per game Rushing Yards APC YPG
285-----------------17.8-----------------1,509----------5.3-----94.3

Most of his significant runs come from off tackle plays, Winston did his fair share of work.

Compared to Arian Foster 2011:

Attempts Attempts per game Rushing Yards APC YPG
278------------------21.4----------------1,224----------4.4-----94.2
--
Per Football Outsiders, KC ran to Winston's gaps
To his left To his right
17%--------------9%

They were also the 8th most successful team when running off the right tackle:

Adjusted Line Yards Rank
5.02------------------------8

“@AlbertBreer: 3 teams are in on ex-Chiefs OT Eric Winston, and he could sign somewhere today. Important, bc the negotiating window for UFAs opens tonight.”

Hearing the Texans and Eagles, not sure who the other team is??

Don't quote me, but I have heard the Giants want him bad!

I think as a fan base, some need to come to the realization that the majority of FAs are not going to give a discount to play for the Cowboys.

There might be a player who has been a Cowboy all along and might do it. There might be a player that has been a cowboys fan all their life and is offered a contract that is pretty close to the next one, or you might have someone that lives in texas and wants to be home with his family or retire here.

But for the most part FA players are looking to secure their financial future and will by and large take the best monetary deal they can get.

I think people really need to wake up from the idea that a FA will give a good discount to play with the cowboys. It can happen but it is now the exception and far from the rule. This is not the mid nineties and we are not in the middle of a dynasty.

The Cowboy discount days are over. I wouldn't give the Cowboys a discount and I am a fan. At one time I would have gave them a discount if I was a player. I wouldn't even consider it now.

Yes, we need to go get the 30 year old who's had at least one major knee injury in his career who's looking for his 3rd team in 3 years. Pretty much all premiere offensive linemen get releaed by their teams in back to back years. This guy is totes different from Marco Rivera and Leonard Davis. Where's the checkbook?

Still, I hope that wouldn't inhibit us drafting guards with the first 5 picks of the draft.

When we tagged Spencer, we pretty much put ourselves out of the race for guys like this.

Uh oh, look out, stash read a website and is ever so eager to throw around some definitions to look smart, even though he hasn't the foggiest what they mean.

I'll stand by my logic...

a) He's going to be 30 years old next year

b) He's had a major knee injury in his career.

c) He's looking for his 3rd employer in 3 years.

d) He's been cut by his team in back to back offseasons.

Now it's your turn to demonstrate where these items are false.

Prove your 5 guards argument. Then we can address whatever else you would like.

I'll wait.

What's there to "prove" when I wasn't stating it as fact?

Once again, while you read a website on logic fallacies, but you really don't know what it means. I appreciate the effort, though.

If I can choose to get warmack or cooper vs Winston ? I'd take one of the young guys. I feel guard is more important at this moment and the future. Winston isn't the future. I'd love to get Winston but rather fulfill other needs

I think some would disagree on the Parnell turnstile comment, there has been a lot of tape that has been studied that says Parnell improved and just needed the reps he has the ability and power and strength. So I wouldn't be so quick to just throw a homegrown guy to heap pile just yet.

We could keep Parnell as a backup. I don't think he could beat out Winston. I just know we need to improve the OL, and Winston is probably the best chance we will have to do that.

Sure you weren't.

Why not both?

Why not solidify your entire line?

You assume the Chiefs bothered to ask any teams if there was interest for a trade.

I don't understand. Why would a team choose to release a player rather than trade him to a team in the other conference and get something in return?

You'll get it as soon as you show where anyone ever mentioned '5 guards.'

Until then, you don't deserve a response.

You want to have an intelligent debate, bring some intelligence to the party.

Here?

For some people, it's all they have!

And I'm not interested.

If people want to deal in the truth, I'm happy to.

But little patience for baseless nonsense.
