Yea he caught lightning in a bottle but so did foles. But those guys can not maintain that level of play. But that also had some good defenses to help them out. The problem is our defense is so bad if we do not run a lot and run effectively they get exposed and Dak can not overcome that. And as it's been pointed out we are too easily stymied by good defenses while below average offenses feast on our defense. It's just not a recipe for success measured in wins and losses.

One of his biggest weaknesses is that he has never shown the ability to beat defenses with his throws. I'm talking when the defense has good position and he still puts it right on the money. ie, to "make a play". (He has a few times but not enough that you believe he can or will do it when it counts).

Improve his weaknesses and I will give him credit accordingly.

I'll take my QB catching lighting in a bottle and winning a championship over never doing it at all any day of the week.

I already posted about the 2012 Ravens defense, but I'll share it with you also:

The 2012 Ravens were 20th in run defense and 17th in pass defense. They gave up over 30 points twice in that playoff run.

According to Pro Football Reference the 2012 Ravens was 13th in scoring defense allowing 21.5 PPG.

The Cowboys 2016 ranking was 5th (19.1 PPG), 2017 ranking was 14th (20.8 PPG), 2018 ranking was 6th (20.3 PPG), 2019 ranking was 11th at (20.1 PPG)

So, every year that Dak has played a full season the Cowboys have held opponents to less PPG then the 2012 Super Bowl Champion Ravens did with Flacco.

The Ravens don't win the Super Bowl without Flacco stepping up.

Hey, The guy said the 2012 Ravens had a "elite generational defense". I like to research these things, unlike you.

I can't help if the stats aren't in Dak's favor, Rockport? I'm just posting the numbers.

Generally QB’s don’t perform or produce as well against greater defenses and teams. The same for the team.

I’m not arguing Dak is an Elite QB. Just a Franchise QB. And one good enough with a good team around him we are competitive. Much more competitive than without him.

He’s our guy until Jethro and Son bring in someone else. All we can do is try and build around him. Most would agree he appears to be enough given the support.

The Ravens did have a strong defense for most of that era. That year wasn’t statistically one of their best but they still had some key and experienced talent from the greater defenses. And Ravens were still thought of as a good defense. But you are correct , not as much that year. And surely not generational that year. My broad stoke was corrected accurately.

Flacco was 14th in yards. 2 spots above Andy Dalton with 5 less TD's. And yes while 2 teams scored alot in the post season only 6 teams scored more than 24 points during the regular season while 7 opponents scored 16points or less. They also had the #1 kick/punt return. That's still a pretty good defesne and a bit under rated. Flacco was an average QB who had a good year and wasn't anything special before or after that, same with foles only foles magic was needed for far fewer games. You realize you are actually making the case that Dak has a chance just like the flacco's, foles, dilfers to go on a magical SB run without a top defense.

I mean, you can look at it however you want, I just posted the numbers.

Maybe Dak can do it, but he hasn't yet. It doesn't mean he won't. I'm just saying let Dak do it first, then we can crown him.

Either that or you have no instincts , insight or able to analyze or evaluate QB who are capable of winning a championship until they do.
 
If you come in a Cowboys fan forum and all you have is Dak isn’t good enough to win a championship until he does, that’s trolling Cowboy fans.

There’s plenty of NFL and football sites to go to without directly trolling Cowboy fans.
