Market for ex-Cowboy: Former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Ellis is being pursued by seven teams, according to a source. At least one of those teams is willing to pay him more than $3 million a year. Ellis is going to start visiting teams this week. He is being pursued by teams with 4-3 and 3-4 defenses.

All that competition and he still hasn't signed! I wonder why? I highly doubt anyone would pay him any more than the vet min plus incentives.

Let me guess. The source is his agent.

I don't think anybody should be surprised if he's making around 3 mill a year. As a pass rush specialist he's still a good player...he's just a headache to have on your team for years, which he won't have to do anywhere else.

Its only a matter of time before he is a Carolina Panther

I just hate the thought of him complaining somewhere else.

Cutting him was still the right move to make.

well i think we should have kept him till mid training camp to see if some teams linebackers/ passrushers got injured;

that way you might have been able to make a trade;

Good for him. Hope it works out well.

I'm still 100% behind the decision to waive him.

There is always a Jerry Jones out there who will take a chance on a "big name," always a Wade Phillips out there who will think that age equates to good.

The NFL is full of rubes and Ellis will land somewhere. I won't begrudge him from getting a paycheck, though I am glad he is out of here.

He'll get signed by someone for a lot more the vet minimum, Ellis is still a decent pass rusher the reason we cut him wasn't his lack of skill

Of course teams were going to be interested.

He is still a good player. No matter how hard Cowboys fans want to kick the guy out the door.

He can still play, but he got to be a malcontent...nothing was ever good enough and it became all about him. I seriously doubt there has been an offer without even visiting a team...especially for 3mil/yr or better. Agent chatter.

I enjoyed him as a Cowboy but I think he is near finished. Another one whose mouth lasts longer than their athleticism.

He was lucky to get 8 sacks last year and we all know why.

Give me Spencer.

And if he goes to a division rival? Whatever. He's done.

He was lucky to get 8 sacks last year? I'll say. 8 sacks is nothing to sneeze at.

If he goes to a division rival, he makes them a better team. I hope he ends up in the AFC at a contender someplace.

It was a very nice contribution, but his skills were obviously diminishing.

I don't think he will sniff 4-5 sacks next year, let alone 8. But I still wish him well because he was a solid defensive leader for a few years.

Greg Ellis signs with the Raiders

Greg Ellis has gone from one interesting high-profile owner to another. He signed with the Oakland Raiders, Fanhouse.com's Calvin "Lucky" Watkins reports.

It's a three-year deal. Financial terms aren't available.

Considering crazy Al Davis' recent signings, Ellis might actually have gotten a raise after being cut by the Cowboys.

Just kidding ... I think.

That is a bit of a surprise I didn't even think of Ellis going to the raiders. I wish them the best other than the Thanksgiving Day game..

At this point, with the raiders, I think any FA that signs with them can not use any excuse except that they signed for the money. Which is kind of funny because of all the whining he has done the last few years while trying to say it is not about the money.

Good luck greg...you are going to need it.

LOL

What a landing spot.

Al Davis' senility is in full effect.
