In your opinions, how does Bret Favre's decision impact on Javon Walker's chances of staying at Green Bay?

I think it increases Walkers chances of staying in Green Bay. Sure there may be a personal dislike between the two but Walker has to know that Favre would make his season much more successful than say A Rodgers at QB. Thus if he wants to have a big payday next year when he hits FA he needs to put up big numbers and prove he has recovered from his injury.

I don't think he really has the upper hand because he HAS to play this year to be eligible for FA next year.

Nothing like a lasting legacy. I hope they're paying him very handsomely. He'll regret this I think; GB will suck out loud.

Super. Now I can hear every announcer talking about Favre's last dance all year in every game he's playing in and not focusing on the team.

I'm betting Madden ups the Favre references 60%.

I'm not sure if Brett is coming back to break records or anything, I'm sure it had a little to do w/ his decision, but the guy is a competitor, he loves the game of football. Can you blame him for coming back another season to something he loves? I am just as sick and tired of Favre and the way he seems to come up w/ "Retirement" every season, but you have to respect his decision.

What about all of you guys? Isn't there a sport you love? That you keep coming back to? Favre loves football, he'll compete and while the odds are very slim for him to make the playoffs, you have to love his will to keep going. I respect him for that, even though I hate the way he drags it on and complains about things like a little B.

I've never seen a QB make so many Quincy Carter like passes(that have nothing to do with personel), and keep getting a pass because the Packers have such a weak supporting cast. He better produce or Mr. Rogers will be taking snaps.

I can see Favre on pace to beat last season's paltry 29 interceptions, easily.

Yeah he is gonna wish he retired in 2004. 2005 wasnt bad enough...ok.. this has disaster written all over it...

I don't think it does at all. Brett spoke out in the media about Javon's threatened holdout last year. Then Javon got hurt without getting his new contract. Javon will stay only if the Packers come to him with wallet open. I don't see that happening.

Thanks Hos ...while that make sense ...it makes no cents (at least for Walker).;)

While I understand what you're saying aikemirv, that scenario sounds to close to the TO and McNabb debocle. I don't think Green Bay wants that type of lockerroom/on-field situation. Think about it.

I am so sick of hearing about Brett Favre.

I hope the Packers start off 0-8, and then they put Rogers in.

Watching Farve stand on the sidelines would be priceless.

I don't think it would be near the TO/McNabb debacle because I don't believe any WR in their right mind would go after Favre the way TO went after McNabb.

That said, it is in GB's best ineterest to get whatever they can for Javon this year because next year it is either let him go for free or franchise him and franchising him would be a no win situation for them.

I was sick of Brett Favre 10 years ago.

He's like a Mississippi fungus that won't go away.

The bad: We'll have to endure another year of Madden and Peter King slobbering all over him as "ol Brett" gets ready to ride off into the Delta sunset on his riding lawnmower.

The good: We'll get to see him get clobbered and throw more interceptions. We'll also get to see him delay the Packers' rebuilding for another year as first-year coach Mike McCarthy pulls his hair out.

Makes sense. I'll buy it!;)
