I'm sure they view it as best of both worlds for them. Their rookie QB gets experience this year for their Superbowl run next year or they will be in position to bring in a real franchise QB.

Regardless of whether or not he becomes a good quarterback, I don't think they should attempt to pursue a "franchise" QB next offseason.

They're turning the reigns over to Campbell. I don't think the pressure should be so intense that they'll replace him, a former first-round pick starting for the first time, next offseason if he fails to light it up this year.

For all the Commanders fans that are annoying and are complete idiots when it comes to having a football discussion... I hope he FAILS MISERABLY!

You guys are ABSOLUTELY SCREWED if he fails. A team full of aging free agents and hardly any draft picks... the Cowboys are on the way up and the Skins are headed for the gutter and in a hurry!

I would have figured you a Penn St. fan with all that Philly love.

Campbell may succeed, but it will be out of sheer luck. All signs point to the fact that it's way too early. Everyone points to Brunell as the problem on that team. I'm sorry, but that team has got a lot more problems than just Brunell, who has actually played decently this year.
Luck? Meaning what? He'll luckily play well for the rest of the season? We're not the Steelers over here going for a SB run.

Brunell's stats are mighty decent, but his play has been inconsistent and pathetic on the road.

Patrick Ramsey is a better QB than Campbell ever will be. If you never saw him play at Auburn you really can't fathom how epic of a bust he will be. The guy was a fringe first day talent.
Umm, yea, I saw him play plenty at Auburn. He looked 10 times better winning football games, then Ramsey throwing 40 times a game for a terrible Tulane team.

I am......couldn't fit the logo into the sig.

Notre Dame and Penn State are my college teams.

A little more of an Irish fan though.

It has to be an exciting time for the RedStinks!

Look at how excited us Cowboy fans were when the news came that Romo was named the starter for the rest of the season!

We even had posts (and I was one of them) thinking that "Well, the season is over, but, at least we get to see Romo play..." And, so far that turned out real good for us.

Now the RedStinks? It will be exciting for them, but, I really feel sorry for Campbell...because if he dosen't provide some sort of spark...those fans are going to go crazy on him and it could ruin him as a QB!

The RedStinks better hope that he has some "wolf" in him....!

Poor sucker...

If you had to watch Brunell play every week you'd be excited too.

hell, people were really depressed today also, right up untill this news :laugh2:
With all due respect, I think you're still going to be depressed for the rest of the year. I live here in DC--& you really have to question Gibbs' drafting ability. I seriously question whether this kid is the answer. I've been here (laughing) thru Shuler, Ramsey, etc etc. It'll also be interesting to see if Saunders decides to ramp down his offense. Mr. "I've got a 9,872 page playbook & never repeat the same play in less than 3 games" is going to have to actually tailor the offense for the players he has--including a kid in his 2nd year.

The irony is that if "Offensive Genius" Gibbs had actually worked with Ramsey, instead of throwing $$$ at a broken-down QB, you'd probably be in pretty decent shape. That kid could have been redeemed, despite Spurrier's mishandling of him, & surely a coach like Gibbs is supposed to be could have given him new life.

I also read over there that Gibbs supposedly is already looking at salary cap room for next season. I LOVE IT!!! PLEEEEEEZZZZZEEE tell the Boy Blunder & his ancient sidekick 'Ol Red Gibbs to keep spending $$$ (& draft picks) on more unproductive FAs. Makes it so much more fun to enjoy it when they lose. You're down to, what, one first-day pick? And just a couple on day two? Oh yeah, Gibbs has been brilliant with all that personnel management. Brilliant, I tell you, BRILLIANT!!!

If a qb can get you to the playoffs, it doesn't matter. I don't care what you're buying. You didn't here it because you are not as thorough as I am.
Some people had actually projected Charlie Frye in the first round ahead of Campbell, I don't know why, but at the Senior Bowl, everyone clearly said that Campbell was the best qb out there. It was in the summaries of the Senior Bowl. I don't have a copy with me, but If you really wanted find out, look it up for yourself.
In other words you pulled it out of thin air and spouted it as fact and can't back it up.

I figured as much.

Washington's vaunted defense is pitiful and only getting older
Their million dollar coaches are all garbage
They have traded away most of their draft picks next year
They have 9 players taking up over 60 million in cap room next year :lmao:
They have a future bust as their "franchise" QB

The future looks bright in our nation's capitol

Will Al Saunders or Gregg Williams be Washington's headcoach next season? I can't forsee the Crypt Keeper returning for another dose of heartache. Back to Nascar.

Yes, the two top 5 picks are now backups and couldn't even do what a drugged out reach of a qb could do, get his team to the playoffs. They must be so proud. You have a skewed sense of value when you think the only qb to get us to the playoffs in the last ten years was one of the worst players to ever play for the Cowboys. Romo's success only heightens how far that Bledsoe has fallen. With that qb you hate so much winning multiple games in a row, we are still trying to figure out how to win 2 games in a row. When Q left the team, apparently, Bills genius went with it. We are struggling to win even when the NFC is a joke. Hope you're happy now.
Uh, Carr and Harrington are not backups. Carr starts for the Texans, and Harrington for the Dolphins.

Q was Bill Parcells muse huh?

:laugh2:

You slay me.

Do I even need to touch the hypocracy in this post?

I guess all of the excitement for romo to play is more justified right?:bang2:

In all honesty...

what exactly have you seen in Campbell to give you hope? I'm not asking this in sarcasm or anything.. its a straight forward honest question. I haven't seen the Skins play in the pre-season so I haven't seen him play.

Is there a strong reason to believe he will come in and succeed?

Following this pre-season, Cowboy fans had good reason to believe that Romo COULD be successful.

Says who? you ever think that the offense can't perform with a bad QB at the helm? Saunders' offense needs a QB who can actually throw the ball to succeed.

actually, it's 11 players(which still isn't good). But like always, you have to change facts around to make yourself look better

They have a future bust as their "franchise" QB
Once again, you NEVER use any facts for you arguments. Just a little hint, opinions don't make for a good argument. And when you are trying to prove that our future QB is going to be a bust, your going to need a little bit more than just your opinion.
