Build from the draft, build the Dline just like the Oline was built. It's a fromula that is working. I don't see JPP or Suh fitting in Dallas budge, without a slew of contract restructures.

I think this as well. I'd like to have either although Suh is an enigma and a questionable head case. JPP is inconsistent. My thoughts are we will attack DE in the draft if possible and maybe DT. We would be very lucky to get both although it's possible. DT is not a MUST but a WANT. I hope we don't give away picks to get 'magic missing pieces of the puzzle' though. We must get out of cap hell somehow. The only way I know is to make a player(s) take a pay cut which would help immediately and maybe later. Get rid of marginal players esp with big contracts if possible. Get rid of some big contracts if possible.

The problem with this is you gamble now for later and with Romo around that is problematic.

His agenda and motivations are clear. He's motivated to get paid. In New York or anywhere else. And once he gets that money, I expect more disappearing acts that he's had far too often.

No to big money players with questionable motors and motives.

You may be right. I don't know what he would do although I suspect you could be right.

Since so many here have discussed JPP to fill a need at DE I'm putting this in the Fan Zone instead of the NFL Zone. Discuss if you like.

If JPP is available for a contract that would be reasonable enough for the Cowboys to sign him, then that contract would probably also be reasonable enough for the Giants to re-sign him.

Based on his injury history (primarily a back issue), I don't see the Cowboys giving him a huge contract.

Tom Coughlin is a pretty good judge of pass rushers, so if he's willing to let JPP go, I think I would let him go elsewhere.

Suh has already proven that he kept playing at a high level after getting a huge 2nd contract. This will be JPP's first chance to get a 2nd contract.

The odds of hitting on defensive ends in the draft are not nearly as good as hitting on the intiror lineman we did the past couple years. Defensive ends where we are drafting in the first have an extremely high bust rate

In all honesty I think Sheard will be a better player then JPP once he is back in a 4-3

What DE that will be available when Dallas picks in round one will have as much an impact as a player like JJP? Most that will be in that draft area are tweeners. Dallas already did that this yr and its not really paying off so far.

Let Marinelli coach him up and my bet his career gets turned around. JPP and Dlaw at both ends for the next several years sounds pretty good to me!

Marinelli is most likely going to Tampa to be with his BFF. JPP will look for the most money which definitely won't be Dallas.

If I'm not mistaken JPP was a late draft pick.

Do we have the salary cap room to go for Suh? Thank you.

Yes.

But no.

Dallas could fit Ndamukong Suh into their salary cap, but I don't expect he is the flavor they want.

Dez Bryant will get a new contract, surpassing $100M in total value, or be franchised tagged.

Rolando McClain needs a new deal, probably similar to Sean Lee's, but perhaps with a large second year option to serve as a carrot.

Doug Free or Jermey Parnell should be re-signed.

And adding a free agent DE, left side or right side, would be more prudent than overspending for Suh.

The Cowboys have enough options inside that DT can be addressed with a reasonable cost free agent and/or during the draft.

Yeah, stupid salary cap. I'd love Suh on this team but that contract is going to be huge.

I think a much more interesting option would be Stephen Paea from Chicago. I'm pretty sure it was a guy Marinelli helped draft when he was with the Bears. He'd come a lot cheaper than Suh and immediately be the best 1-tech on the roster.

If 10.5 sacks and being one of the best run defending DE's in the game is "underachieving", then I'll take the underachieving JPP over any DE we have on the roster any day of the week. I also question the Giant's defensive coordinator. This isn't Spag's defense anymore and it's obvious. I'm kinda torn on JPP because of the back stuff, and I also don't think he's going to get what he thinks he's going to get, but if he checks out I think he could be a very good player on this defense.

I'd consider Paea + JPP a huge haul this offseason, and we could get both for what Suh would cost, maybe less. Dez is going to take a chunk to retain, and we need to re-sign McClain, but it's doable and we have a ton of room in 2016. Get a couple of legitimate NFL players on the line and it lets you go BPA in the draft.

Could be a bargain, could make you say, "Jerry is so stupid!" once again if JPP can't get back on track. I'd pass. If Dallas is as dead set as some of us are on a big name free agent, I'd lean towards the dirty DT out of Detroit.

Jerry Hughes, Colts
Whitney Marcellius, Texans
Cam Jordan, Saints
Nick Perry, Packers
Datone Jones, Packers
Bjorn Werner, Colts
Marcus Smith, Eagles

These are the pass rushers taken between picks 24 and 32, where we will be picking. The only player on this list thats been a difference maker for the team that drafted him is Cam Jordan although Hughes has been effective with Buffalo

Every year is different this list has no bearing on how this years draft will work out. The money JPP is gonna want I don't believe will fit in Dallas budget, especially for a player that has been inconsistent this year.
