Management better hope they continue to draft good, free agents may not want to come in the future if the owner developes a reputation for being cheap.

Panther fans should be angry about this.

You don't want to resign him? Fine.

But to just let him walk and get 0 compensation for it is just horrible.

Had Dallas have done that I would've exploded.

Ego's got involved and Panthers management didn't do what was best for the franchise.

Do they receive a compensatory pick for him next year?

Normans agent doesn't tell him how to play football and Norman doesn't tell his agent how to get him the biggest contract possible.

Norman, by all accounts, wanted to be a Panther and he fired his agent because of all of this.

What do they say. A day late and a dollar short. Josh assumed his agent was doing what's in his best interest. If Josh's interest was staying in Carolina, then Josh assumed wrong. All mistakes begin with an assumption. The moral of the story, don't bleeping assume anything if you aren't willing to accept the consequences of being a complete and total dumb*** who losses what you want.

Person in error and fully 100% responsible for not playing in Carolina next year: Josh Norman.

You seem really emotionally tied to this story so you can have it. I don't care that much.

The more important factor is that he was a 5th round matchup zone player who shined in his contract year behind a great front 7, and the Panthers believe, after being so close to the Lombardy trophy this year, that he was expendable and replaceable. They felt even the one year tender money could be spent in other areas to make a stronger team. That says it all.

Sounds like Josh shot himself in the foot. Good for him, now he will live in mediocrity and torment as a Foreskin.

He just got $50 million guaranteed. He isn't gonna win many football games... but I think he'll be alright.

Nope.. Agent was to blame by all reports.

Still.. Doesn't excuse the Panthers of throwing a hissy fit and not getting compensation for a player like that.

He might have had a crappy agent but he still was a big part. He claims he had no idea how far apart they were....that's on him.

He could have signed the franchise tag.

He wanted to when he heard they were going to rescind it.......no one expects the team to pull the offer....the NYG didn't even pull it when JPP blew himself up last year........not signing is stupid imo but agents feels it allows them to hold-out and maintain some leverage........not that it backfired.....he has 51m reasons to like DC....
