News: ESPN: Josh Norman made last-ditch effort to stay in Carolina

Jerry Richardson doesn't tolerate today's type of athlete. And throwing Hardy away and making the Super Bowl surely emboldened him.

Richardson played in the NFL, and he resents much of what he sees these days.

He should resent what he sees these days.

Pretty sure New England wouldn't have re-signed him for that amount.

But yes, if you're not signing, trade him.

He wanted to when he heard they were going to rescind it.......no one expects the team to pull the offer....the NYG didn't even pull it when JPP blew himself up last year........not signing is stupid imo but agents feels it allows them to hold-out and maintain some leverage........not that it backfired.....he has 51m reasons to like DC....

Backfired is a relative term. Clearly Josh wanted to sign. If that is what he wanted, then yes it did backfire.

Either way, the guy got paid. So while he didn't get what he wanted. He still got something. Though I can fully testifiy that money isn't all it's cracked up to be. It does not buy happiness. Which is why I'm the way I am now. I find happiness in other ways, but I do admit. It makes many of them easier to find. (pays for my hobbies) Though just the ability to buy crap doesn't do **** for happiness. (especially if you're just looking at showing off)

Neither does you getting $50M to play for the skins...

You're not even making sense now.
Within the realm of the hypothetical, a man CAN get paid $50 million to play for the Commanders.
But within the realm of the hypothetical, a man can't become a foreskin.

If you can't see the difference, then there's really nothing more to say. In fact, I'm kind of shame of myself for even entering this line of discussion with you.

Your serve as the last word.

I'm going to say. Crack on, Fat People.

Panther fans should be angry about this.

You don't want to resign him? Fine.

But to just let him walk and get 0 compensation for it is just horrible.

Had Dallas have done that I would've exploded.

Ego's got involved and Panthers management didn't do what was best for the franchise.

He could have easily fetched them a late 1st/early 2nd/player of value in last year of their own deal, etc. Dumb move by owner.

Josh Norman - 5th round pick

Richard Sherman - 5th round pick

Scan is the last mid-late round starter we have found to have near the impact of those two players. That pickup was a good minute ago too.

Sounds like Josh shot himself in the foot. Good for him, now he will live in mediocrity and torment as a Foreskin.

Josh, showed them who was boss.

I'm pretty sure, *HE* is the reason he didn't re-sign in Carolina. I don't blame their GM from telling him to get off the lawn. He gave him the chance to sign the tag tender and he did not. He felt he should get more and he had the rug pulled out from under him He 100% deserved it. Let him wilt away in Foreskin land never sniffing another Super Bowl.

Uh he signed for much more than he would've gotten in Carolina so I think he's going to be ok.

Josh Norman is not the brightest bulb. I caught him on NFL channel and he sounded like he's a little dense. Immature came to mind. Panthers had a few years of him and probably decided that was enough. I can't wait for Hall and him to get into it.

I agree. You trade him for something. That was dumb.

Trade him how? They couldn't agree to contract terms and he hadn't signed his tender. Last I checked you can't trade players that aren't under contract.

I wish the Cowboys operated in this mythical place where you just make trades happen whenever you want. Trade back in the draft whenever you want. Trade whatever player you want.

But he was franchised, so they owned him. He couldn't go anywhere. Don't just let him walk.

He wasn't franchised. He never signed it. All they owned is the ability to negotiate. He would have held out and gotten his money, or been a FA next year.

I agree that you try to get compensation for the guy, but it's not always that simple.

I wonder what sort of compensatory pick(s) they'll get, that can now be traded too.

Could have traded the guy for at least a mid round pick. I know JJ had to sniff around or inquiry about it.

I saw him this morning talking "championship with the Commanders." Sounds like a jilted lover.

How did he shoot himself in the foot? The GM was trying to be super cheap and thats it.
