Do we want Key back? Honestly he caught everything Bledsoe through to him that year. He made all the tough sideline catches and big 3rd down catches over the middle.

Panthers release WR Johnson

"We appreciated the contribution of Keyshawn in his season with the Panthers," said head coach John Fox. "He brought us high production, but at this time, we are in a situation in which we have drafted a younger version of him in Dywane Jarrett and thought Out with the old and in with the new!."

That is what it actually meant.

I bet Keyshawn knew this was coming as soon as he saw they drafted him. All that talk about how he was going to mentor Jarrett and then getting tossed out on his butt. Classic. :)

I was watching America's Game the other day and they were focusing on the Bucs Superbowl Team. Some Viking DL was shouting trash to the Bucaneers offensive huddle while they were trying to call the play, and Key butted in while Brad Johnson was tyring to call the play..

"Sorry Brad, just a second.

(shouting to the Minnesotota DL) Hey, why don't you shut the F up, you broken down Jon Randall wannabe !!

Sorry about that Brad, go ahead ...."

I would not be suprised to see the Texans make a move on Key. Moulds is no longer with them and would need a vet WR to work opposite of Andre Johnson

He might fit in San Diego. He would be a good down-field blocker for LT and will still go over the middle. Plus, he lives in Southern Cal. Do you guys think Norv could use him?

Sounds crazy I know, but I'd take him back in Dallas. I thought he provided a safety valve for Bledsoe when he was here.

He's more of a TE now than receiver, but his hands are as reliable as anybody's.

Wade Phillips wants speed, remember this is not a Parcells ran camp anymore...:laugh2:

Kind of bad timing for Key. If New England hadn't of signed Moss Key would be a Patriot by the end of the day.

Sounds like a guy I want on my team!

I got the feeling that Keyshawn knew he was going to be cut. He commented at one point that he was on his way out. I thought it was a bit of a slip of the tongue when he said it. I think he kept it under wraps to help his team on draft day.

Depending on how much he is willing to sign for he damn well still could be a Patriot. This might turn into what the Lakers did a few years back. Signing all those has-been players for low salaries just to try and win a championship.

And it will end up the same way ....

ok, here me out first guys;

yes, i think we need key; first he has leadership and most of the cowboy players know him and respect him; what did we miss in the lockerroom? leadership;

next, when we needed a key 3rd down, or goaline play, it was keyshawn

then, keyshawn said that even after we signed TO, the cowboys tried to talk him to coming back to the cowboys about 3 times. Next, he said Jerry Jones and he are friends, and jerry wants keyshawn when he does retire to come help him in publicity, etc,

then, why not, let keyshawn come back as a player/coach, that way he would know he helps the team, and helping the young receivers;

that way he knows he is helping the team, and get a chance at another super bowl, the main thing he wants;

also, because of his age, why not let him know, ok most of the time i want you to help our wr coach help the young wrs. And we will use you on critical 3rd down plays, not to wear you out or reinjure you, while you help us scoring or making big plays on 3rd downs or goallines.

thats the main thing be honest with keyshawn, pay him a decent price but not overprice, and be honest with him by telling him, ok this is what i want you to do and this is how many balls you will catch

he also can look at it like the patriots signed moss, they now have 4 elite wrs, which means not everyone will get the ball, but you can help get us to the big game.

then we can use him like jason garrett is going to use 3 and 4 wide receivers sets,

so why not let jerry jones call keyshawn and see if he wants to help us get to the superbowl, this maybe the player that i was talking about that was cut in june or july that can help us get to the big game,

finally, what thing did you see we were missing in december and at the goalline in seattle, like we had 1st and goal, we didnt have the big play of receiving of a knowledgeable player, or that big catch in endzone, like when we had keyshawn the year before or making that critical catch down the sideline like one guy posted, keyshawn can provide that, joe

I'd take Key back in a defined role. I do think that our team needs leadership. Furthermore, Glenn and Owens are in their 30's...so at least if you have 3 30's then if one goes down, you still have another. Crayton will stay and have to up his game. As for Austin...step right up and you can beat out Crayton and Key. If not, we can always find another UDFA to fit into his spot.

On NFL Live they showed the clip of Key talking about Jarret...

"I am gonna show him this, I am gonna show him that..."

That clip has turned into an instant classic.

Key will catch on with some team, I imagine the packers and Ravens might want to take a look. The Raiders and Titans make sense as well, but I think at this stage, he's looking more for a contender, rather than being a rookie QB's security blanket.

I highly doubt he comes back to Dallas to be the #3 receiver. He might have done it for Parcells, since he was Bill's boy, but with BP gone, I don't think we make sense for him.

Wow! I would love to have him back with the Cowboys; unfortunately, there's not a place for him anymore. He'll get picked up, but he won't have his choice of teams to go to.

OAKLAND is a possibility, however, they already have their "Ned the Wine-O" version of Keyshawn (Mike Williams).

On a serious note, he should immediately go call Al Davis. A WR like him can so benefit a young QB like Russell. Much better option than Moss for that IMO.

Or Tennessee for Young.

But Russell has Mike Williams now!!!

;)

(btw, I was on that bandwagon too, so all in fun.)
