Some viewed this season as a make or break season for Rivers who's suffered 47 turnovers the past 2 seasons. Like Romo he can be terrific and he can also be terrible. if he gets hot like he did vs Philly in week 2 we could be in for a shootout on Sunday.

Some of Romo's worst plays have occurred when he's had all day in the pocket and some of his greatest plays have come about when he's had little time but manufactured a great play due to his escapability. Using Brady and Brees to defend or make a point about Romo isn't going to get you very far because he's not at their level. All QB's make mistakes it's the nature of the position but a big problem with Romo has been his decision making especially in critical games. Although Rivers has won more playoff games than Romo his TD to turnover ratio in elimination games is 8-10 which isn't much better than Romo's 8-12 TD to turnover ratio in his 7 elimination games.

When a QB has accomplished as much as Brady and Brees have accomplished their mistakes aren't nearly as scrutinized as QB's whose teams keep coming up short every year. Brady and Brees have had some great seasons that resulted in championships. If Rivers had a SB win on his resume he wouldn't have entered this season with some thinking it was a make or break year for him in San Diego. It's the coming up short EVERY season that makes a QB's mistakes stand out more and eventually lands them on the hot seat. What keeps QB's like Rivers and Romo starting year after year is their production and the hope they'll eventually put it all together and win a championship.

The guys has a point. Romo doesnt look as mobile as he used to be and he does tend to make those head scratching mistakes when the defense is consistently around him but this isnt a revalation though, id say most qb's dont perform as well under duress.
