Crown jewel??? Man, this isn't 1995. This organization has been irrelevant for about 12 years.
I applaud Jerry for making a bold move and having a young HC that can bring stability for years to come.

I meant historically and based on this year's TV ratings.

Find it a little hard to believe he could impress JJ that much. BUt two interviews certainly does catch your attention.

He does have an Ivy League education. I guess Jerruh was impressed with those big words he used.

I doubt it would take much to impress Jerruh- he did hire Dave Campo.

It's almost guaranteed that he's getting hired for some position. It's just really strange that we'd announce an OC hiring before an HC announcement.

Look on the bright side, if Romo gets hurt Garrett could step in and he'd still be younger than Vinny when he last suited up.

Im not totally against this but you'd think that we would wait to interview more people, its not like he's going anywhere.

Uh. Dallas cant talk to him anymore after tomorrow. And other teams have asked to talk to him in the past and been denied.

I dont know why people are knocking the guy. people around the league seem to think he is a rising guy in the league...really smart and knows football. It would be a bold move but certainly better than just taking the safe route in Wade Phillips

Troy Akiman seems to think Garrett is solid and a future star in this league. Dallas already passed on a Sean Payton once.

Is there anything in the Coaches Attire rules that would preclude him from wearing a uniform?

I mean that way if Romo's playing poorly JG could just say to hell with it.. slam down the headset and put on the helmet instead.

I mean afterall, it's not like Romo's career stats are appreciably better or anything. ;)

I'm intrigued but haven't jumped on the Garrett wagon for HC yet.

Mickey said on DC.com radio this mourning that Jason Garrett is coming in to be an offensive cordinator.

And I'm sure that's what it's all about. Jerruh missed out on Payton and now he's trying to find (reach) for another one. The difference is Payton was an OC for several years with two different teams.

Garrett has only coached a couple of years and then just as a QB coach.

Typical Jerruh, always reaching. I can hardly wait til the draft. I wonder how many would be undrafted free agents we end up selecting?

Wow this is terrible IMO

Hope all the people who wanted Parcells gone are happy now. If this is true with Garrett, JJ is definitely taking back control of the franchise. Not good news on any level (scouting, drafting, free agency, what toilet paper to supply the locker room with). Bad bad times ahead. Come back BP

Why do people think this?

Both interviews, Jason only said one word..

The first interview:

Jones: You know your title will be Head Coach,, But I will tell you exactly what to do, who to draft, where to play them and may call th plays if I feel like it,, right?

Jason: YES

Second Interview:

Same as the first!!

If he hires Jason to be HC.. this will be a repeat of every coach between Jimmy and Parcells,, what a shame.

I half agree with you - but to play devil's advocate...

This is as much Parcells idea as Jerry's. He wanted Payton to take over, but Payton was offered the NO job, and Bill couldn't ask him to wait a year. Bill has tried at other places, like NYJ, to leave a replacement. He missed out with Payton getting away, maybe he's trying to get Garrett in here, in some cpacity, to take over eventually.

Just sayin'.

If that is the case, then we'd be better off for BP to get on back to Jersey.

As unlikely as success would be with Garrett as a HC, it's hardly a lock for failure. I wouldn't be thrilled with it, but I'd certainly be open-minded, Ginger-kids jokes notwithstanding.
