ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Boldin Asks For Trade

If they have no plan to give him the big bucks, they should try and get a #1 for him. I'd give our 2009 #1, considering it will be pick #32 and there's a good chance we'll never get a guy with his production that low.

If we do get our hands on a big time vet WR now or next winter, i just can't see how Jerry can keep giving these huge deals.

..about the big deals being signed off on. There has to be a limit and I think we hit it this off-season because we didn't pony up the money or high draft picks to do a deal when some were out there.

But, with TG now gone, there maybe more wriggle in the cap than what was before going forward.

I just don't see how we could keep Boldin, TO, Witten, Crayton, Felix Jones and MBIII all happy with enough touches to go around. Much less give anything to Hurd and Austin or whoever is the remaining WRs.

But I admit..it would be fun to try.

But deep down..I really think we need to just sit pat and see what we have in our young WRs.

As a group, collectively, they maybe very effective. We just have to keep feeding them game reps. Garrett has something up his sleeve we haven't seen yet. I think the offense is going to see alot more passing to the RBs to get them in space against LBers.

That's why Dallas isn't over-reacting to the TG loss and now the Austin injury. Neither one of those was going to play a big part in the coming offense.

They just need to keep feeding the ball to these other WRs and really see what is there before a knee jerk trade happens.

But I would expect Dallas to make a deal for a some sort of vet WR in the last cutdowns depending on what the rest of the WRs behind Hurd do...that's my thought. No trades for an exotic sexy WR, but somebody they can get for cheap until next year and then they go shopping.

For all you contract gurus, what would the possibility be of trading a No. 1 and a player - maybe Carpenter - and making the contract be something like 3 yrs, 25 mil, but make the first year be around $6M with incentives to bump it up? Would the incentive money paid out count toward this year's cap, or next year's?

When you're this close, how can you not get it done? Total faith in the Joneses to make a sound financial contract that won't set the club back.

For some reason, winning championships kinda outweighs that. The only one that might have a problem would be TO, but he will still get his 80-90 receptions and 13-15 TDs. I don't see egos being that big of a deal.

I am sorry ........ but screw Crayton, Hurd, and Austin.

If we got Boldin I could care less if any of those three touched the ball again.

The Cardinals arnt going to trade Boldin, but if they by some miracle did decide to, they sure arnt trading him to us

pipe dream folks

I don't see why Dallas would instantly be ruled out.

I just don't know if Boldin is worth giving up a 1st rounder.

A Dallas Cowboys first round pick for Boldin ?

There's nothing to " know ".

Where do we sign ?

Boldin is without a doubt worth a 1st rounder.

I'd even consider a 1st and a 2nd.....not sure i would do it, but id consider it.

Jerry Jones is going to make the sort of deal it would take to get a guy like Boldin.

That's just my opin.

Jones got torched doing exactly that when he gave up to 2 #1 draft picks and killed the team future when he trade with the Seahawks and got Joey Galloway in the hopes of getting a shot at another SB.

We know what happened there.

Because of that, Jones never heard the end of that move..so a big deal for Boldin by trade will never happen.

If he was an unrestricted FA..yes.

But trade, no.

So I think your lust for Boldin will go unrealized..me thinks.

I'd give a 2nd and 4th. For a #2 WR like Boldin. :D :starspin :starspin :starspin

I hate when people use the Galloway trade as an excuse. We were an old team trying to get one more Superbowl and it back fired. Now we are a young team that could be ready for a Superbowl and that one final piece might push us over the top. But just my opinion.

I don't know how old the news is, but i just watched ESPN say that Anquan Boldin is unhappy again, and has no relation with the Cardinals, stating that they lied to him. Apparently they reported that Dallas and Philly would be interested in trade negotiations.
Again I ask, what would it take to get Boldin in a Cowboys uniform this year?

too much IMO....next question

Would you be interested if they said they would take one of our 2nd round picks and our 3rd round pick in next years draft?

The guy has great tools and when motivated can really make things happen. In a 32 team league he'd be the starter on 80% of the rosters. Ours not being one of them, I think he would make one heck of a number 2 receiver, at least for this season anyway.
