We could be darn near unstoppable with this lineup.

Romo to:

  • TO
  • Witten
  • Boldin or Williams
  • Crayton
  • Austin
  • Hurd
and
  • Barber
  • Jones
  • Choice and co.
As long as we execute.

This might be the year to get that last piece. We are THAT close I believe.

an impressive list, to be sure. Would sure be nice to see but at the end of the day, the list of guys who have to show up are:

Adams
Kosier
Gurode
Davis
Colombo

If those guys play, we can win. If they don't, we can't.

just heard that too. nothing shows up in a google news search

They have Bolden on the show right now and haven't asked him about the trade, which I find a little strange

they just asked him and he said he hasn't heard anything about the trade

just heard on Irvin show that boldin will be traded to the eagles for lito and a draft pick-can anybody confirm?

See how good I am? :lmao2:

I'll take it one step further -- I'll bet this revs up talks again for one Roy Williams. It makes sense, especially with Calvin Johnson looking so good in the preseason. Detroit has a glut of receivers and little else. They're not going to be able to afford both Roy and Calvin anyway, so they might as well get what they can for him.

Umm no offense, but everyone can put boldin in philly because of what they have to offer.

Right now it is purely speculation. Sheppard is always hurt and he wants a new deal, so whoever trades for him has to pay him. I think that is a red flag that everyone keeps overlooking.

and most importantly arizona said they wont deal him.

he did just say though he thinks it is going to be too hard to play in arizona this year, so he may force the issue.

Uh yeah, just like I said...

But unfortunately, I think the Eagles might be willing to offer a higher first rounder and Lito Sheppard, which would trump our offer above. So we'd have to do even better.

You think that's most important? Teams say stuff like that all the time, it doesn't mean anything if the price is right. Cincinatti said they were done with Chris Henry too, and look what happened.

Like someone just said though:

Will Arizona be willing to pay Sheppherd and......

Would Philly really pay top dollar to Boldin?

If they have no plan to give him the big bucks, they should try and get a #1 for him. I'd give our 2009 #1, considering it will be pick #32 and there's a good chance we'll never get a guy with his production that low.

If we do get our hands on a big time vet WR now or next winter, i just can't see how Jerry can keep giving these huge deals.

Dear Prairie Flower:

If you'd give our 2009 #1 then I hope you are never, NEVER considered as Dallas' GM.

Our top pick and on top of that another big payday that the Cowboys cannot afford.

No more liquor fer you.

wait, can anyone confirm this Bolden to Philly deal... ****...

Dont know if this is a repost but here is the story.

Wanting new deal, Cards WR Boldin asks for trade

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin asked to be traded, saying he doesn't feel his situation can be resolved and declaring he has no relationship with coach Ken Whisenhunt.

"I'm a football player. That's about it," Boldin said Tuesday when asked to characterize his dealings with the coach these days.

A team spokesman said the Cardinals have no plans to trade the sixth-year standout and still hope to sign him to a contract extension.

Whisenhunt sounded puzzled when discussing reports that Boldin had said he was no longer speaking to the coach.

"We've been communicating," he said. "If communicating is talking, that's what we have been doing at practice.

As we go forward, I don't know. I don't foresee anything changing. If it does, it's in his court."

Boldin offered a glimpse of his talent late in Tuesday's workout, splitting a pair of defenders on a slant route during a 2-minute drill.

He made a nimble catch on a bullet thrown by Kurt Warner for a 25-yard gain.

But with training camp starting to wind down, Boldin made it sound as if it was a tortured three weeks off the field.

The two-time Pro Bowl player, who blasted team officials as camp opened, claims the Cardinals reneged on an offer to re-negotiate his contract.

He has three years left on the four-year, $22.75 million extension he signed after the 2005 season that keeps him under contract through 2010.

He's making an average of $4 million a year.

"It's a tough situation, especially when you come into a working environment," Boldin said after practice.

"But my job is to stay professional. I'm going to do what I'm supposed to do."

Although Boldin previously denied asking for a trade, he said Tuesday that his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has asked the Cardinals to consider it now.

"At the beginning of camp, I hadn't asked for a trade," Boldin said. "As of recently, we did."

Asked if he believes his standoff with Arizona can be resolved, Boldin shook his head and simply said, "No."

Teammate Larry Fitzgerald signed a four-year $40 million, deal after last season, with $30 million guaranteed, but Boldin has said he believes Fitzgerald earned the deal and that's not why he's unhappy.

Boldin is one of the NFL's top receivers.

He reached 400 career receptions faster than any other player, doing it in 67 games.

In five seasons, Boldin has 413 receptions for 5,458 yards and 29 touchdowns.

"If I'm not going to be treated fairly, if my hard work and loyalty isn't going to be rewarded here, then let me go somewhere where it's going to be rewarded.

That's how I feel," Boldin said.

Give them a first and a third plus a player like Carpenter/Bennet/Spears or a backup olineman. Get er done Jerry!

So why is this news again?

Oh I see.

Mortensen.

Boldin has been unhappy for months. He has made it clear he would like to leave Arizona and this is not the first trade "demand".

I love how ESPN reports something that has been common knowledge for weeks or months and an "insider" like Mortensen puts his little primitive spin on it and then some people gobble it up like it is fresh news or even remotely insightful.

It makes for great comedy.

At least to me.

Across the board, this is an extremely young team save Owens and the offensive line. Linemen seem to be able to play a bit longer, though, so replacing Owens is the only real "age" concern IMO over the next three or so seasons.

I'd be for getting Boldin for two reasons: a) he immediately makes this team better and fills our most glaring need; b) long term, he'll be in his late 20s to early 30s as Owens starts to really age over the next few years. I think Owens is a guy that will be able to play as long as he wants to, but if there is any drop off, Boldin can be that "guy' that we transition into the primary role as Owens takes a lesser role. You would think Boldin and Romo would kind of age together.

For those reasons, given his immense talent, I'd really be willing to offer a big deal to Arizona to try to *make* Boldin available. Two 1sts is too much in my opinion, but maybe a 1st and a 3rd, and a 2010 2nd...or something like that. Yes, it's a lot, but you're going to have to overpay in order to make Arizona even consider making him available.

If you ask T.O. who has influenced him the most, he would say Jerry Rice. Rice mentored him and showed him the importance of practice, training, and hard work. I am quite certain he can be a mentor to Bolden (and Austin). We've already seen a glimpse of it in episode 1 of Hard Knocks in the exchange between T.O. and Lowber.

If there is was thing definitive about Boldin is he doesn't need anybody to teach him about practice, training and hard work. He is known for that. Plus, when he plays, he comes to play.

I have no idea how we will fit this under the cap, and then resign this guy along with DeMarcus Ware.

were trading romo for mark brunell to fit them both in.

we are also going to trade for steven jackson.

I'd give 2 firsts for him. It's pretty much a lock we will draft a wideout in the 1st next year if there's one even remotely worth it. And I love Boldin. :laugh2:
