ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Boldin Asks For Trade

Would you be interested if they said they would take one of our 2nd round picks and our 3rd round pick in next years draft?

yes, but that ain't gonna happen

What would it take then? Would you be willing to do it? Just wondering, because obviously the Cowboys need another Mid-Upper, to Upper teir wide receiver, and him and Roy Williams are the two targets I have my sights set on most. I'm just wondering what it would really take to get Boldin because there has been a lot of Cowboys talk following his name here lately.

#1 #3 and possibly even more, aint happening, eagles got 2 #1's and a extra cb to offer. If they found out we were close to getting him, they would panic and top it. Then again we got some players (backups) we could offer as well.

The guy has great tools and when motivated can really make things happen. In a 32 team league he'd be the starter on 80% of the rosters. Ours not being one of them, I think he would make one heck of a number 2 receiver, at least for this season anyway.

The only two teams he wouldn't start for is NE and INDY.

Dude is a great talent. Young, and proven.

Anquan Boldin would start for any team in the NFL that has his name on the roster. That 80% should be 100%.

If Jerry gives up a #1 for him I will not be mad at all.

This may sound crazy, but I think at this point in time he's better than Marvin Harrison.

Harrison hasn't played like 'Marvin Harrison' in over a year and now he's a year older and no one knows how that knee is going to hold up over a 16 game season.

NE. He's starting over Welker in a 2 WR offense. They usually run with 3 WR's and he's definitely starting over Chad Jackson, Jabar Gaffney and Kelly Washington.

So IMO he's starting on those two teams as well.

Now the IND situation is pretty unique. I don't think they would even try to get him unless Harrison was out of the picture.

I disagree he couldn't start for the colts. Green Bay has a decent number 2 as do the Steelers. There's a couple of teams that he wouldn't auto start on.

IDK if i want to give up a 1st for a WR that didn't have a 1,000 yard season last year. I would much rather do something along the lines of Brett Farves trade.

I don't see why Dallas would instantly be ruled out.

Because the Bidwell's hate the Cowboys and it'd be another PR disaster for them to trade one of their best (and most popular) players to the team right next door...you know, the team that helped them be the only sell out they had yr after yr because our fans pakced their place

David

Zoners, that would be just one too many good things to happen to our team in one yr

P.Crayton for A.Boldin.........superbowl!!!!

Dont be suprised if Crayton is part of the deal.

I would do that..........in a heartbeat, sure a pick would have to be included too, but that would be a decent option to combat what the Eagles would offer.

Crayton has great hands. Not so much upstairs and cant get seperation. He is just above serviceable.

Boldin would be a playmaker.

Agree and a pick also.

He has had a few injuries if I remember correctly? Something to consider, but I really like him.

CARDS WON’T TRADE BOLDIN

Posted by Mike Florio on August 19, 2008, 7:15 a.m.
As the cold war between receiver Anquan Boldin and the Arizona Cardinals flares up, the Cardinals have reiterated their position.
They won’t trade Boldin.
Per Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, the team’s stance hasn’t changed, despite news that Boldin isn’t talking to coach Ken Whisehunt.
Somers also reports that Boldin could leave camp, even though he has said that he plans to honor his contract.
There’s also an interesting pissing match unfolding between Boldin and Whisenhunt. Boldin confirmed on Monday that he isn’t talking to Whisenhunt. Earlier, however, Whisenhunt denied our report that the two men aren’t on speaking terms.
The root of the problem continues to be the disparity between the contract of receiver Larry Fitzgerald and Boldin’s deal. Fitzgerald is making $10 million per year. Boldin is earning less than a third of it, and Somers reports that the team’s last offer to Boldin was worth 50 percent of Fitzgerald’s contract.
And because they’re, you know, the Cardinals, they don’t realize the problems they’ve created by paying two similar players so differently.
But surely they realized that, when they were trying to figure out how to deal with the crippling cap numbers contained in the final two years of Fitzgerald’s rookie deal, they were essentially making a choice between Fitzgerald and Boldin.
Basically, the Cards are smart enough to realize that they can’t pay market value to two elite receivers. But they’re apparently not smart enough to realize that they can’t pay market value to one of them and keep both of them happy.
So, suddenly, this one has the potential to become a T.O.-style mess, with the player apparently hoping to force a trade by becoming a pain in the butt. This time around, however, it’s going to be harder for us to fault the player.

If he leaves camp, this could get interesting. I can't believe the Cards only offered 1/2 of Fritz's salary to Boldin. :shoot5:

Here's another article with Boldin's take on the situation.

BOLDIN ADDRESSES MESS IN THE DESERT

Posted by Mike Florio on August 18, 2008, 8:47 p.m.
Earlier on Monday, we reported that Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin and coach Ken Whisenhunt aren’t talking. And now Boldin has confirmed the absence of a relationship with his boss.
“At this point we have no relationship, and I don’t see that changing,” Boldin told NFL Network. “It’s just gotten to a point where I think lines were crossed. If you ask me, coaches should be coaches, management should be management, and I don’t think those lines should be crossed. But when you cross those lines, you put yourself in postiion for things like this to happen.”
Boldin is referring to his perception that Whisenhunt took and active role in his contract talks. Complicating matters is that Boldin believes the organization (Whisenhunt included) “lied” to him regarding whether he’ll get a new deal.
But he says that his feelings won’t affect his performance on the field. “I can be productive on the field but that’s as far as it goes,” Boldin said. “I will try to detach myself from the organization as much as possible. As long as I’m here, I can’t see myself as a happy member of this organization at all, not with this situation being what it is. I don’t see it being rectified, either. The relationsip with me and the organization is done. I’m here to uphold my contract, that’s it.”

I hate these threads. They remind of that super hot girl in the 9th grade that liked to get you all worked up, and then...........nothing. Too bad there's no Hustler equivalent for wideouts.

WRs are hard to find, period. When 1 comes available and you need one, you have to go get him.

Like someone said before, we will be giving up practically a 2nd round pick for him and he's definitely worth that.

TO & Boldin would be remarkable. Plus, I live in AZ and ALL of my friends are Cards fans, & it would be AWESOME to rub this in their face :D

Condolences.............
