Euros due to kick off next weekend. Any predictions?

Will the winner be someone other than Germany, Spain or France?

As someone that has been watching soccer for my entire life, also played at a pretty high level. The team that is scary to me this Euros is going to be Belgium. They are going to surprise a lot of people. Spain is old and past it, German is scary as well. France is insane on paper, but when it comes to the pitch in big moments they let themselves down too much for me to give them the title like everyone else is. For the record im Italian, and I am in no way shape or form giving my country a chance at the Euro Cup.

Agree Belgium has a good team. Problem is that they are in the "group of death". All four teams capable of winning on the day. Will be a real grinder.

What a goal from Payet.
Thoroughly predictable and depressing the scenes in Marseille.

And Russian fans once again prove that eastern Europe is just 1 big ghetto

I wonder if FIFA is thinking about pulling the 2018 World Cup from Russia if this type of behavior continues. Probably not but it sure would be a stiff penalty if they do.

Great goal by Wes Hoolahan. Pity about the OG at the other end :(

Really wish I was watching England and Wales this morning instead of being stuck at work.

I'm enjoying this tournament even though a lot of the early matchups have been dull.

Haven't enjoyed this Euros as much as most. A lot of defense and ball control.
Far less skill in the Copa (on average) but a considerably more appealing style of game going on.

Modric is apparently missing for the Spain game. Massive loss for Croatia who had looked superb again until he went off yesterday. Still think they would have won if the protest and fighting hadn't happened.

I find the Copa a bit on the slow side. Also doesn't have the depth of teams that are in the Euros.

Of course there isn't the depth of teams. CONMEBOL is only made up of 10 countries. They have to borrow 6 teams from CONCACAF to make a tournament. UEFA has 55 members to choose from to make up their 24 team touney.

Thought yhe copa started dull but really picked up towards the end of the group stages, it's been a lot more fun then the Euros have so far

As a Lukaku and Hazard fan boy yesterday was fun for me but the Euros have started kinda slowly.
England has been good to watch but most teams, like Germany, kinda bleh.

US gets Messi and Argentina now in Copa... sheesh.

Copa hasn't really been slower. More speed and attacking on the field in the Copa and less turtling.
Lots of Euro teams playing not to lose early.
Average Goals per game advantage was Copa by 2.1 goals last I saw.

The Euros advantage in skill and coaching may show up in Semis and Finals tho.
I'll try to catch all of that for sure.

And FWIW I am a firm supporter of European soccer. I want all the US players playing in Europe.
