"Other than Dak" and Dak could be the guy, so....not understanding the issue?

I also heard the word "special" from Nate Newton when describing Tapper with Stephen Jones yesterday. Let's wait and see at least 1 or two preseason games before we go jumping off a cliff...

As sad as it is, Nate Newton is one of the more insightful/unbiased commentators of DC football camp. Hope he's right. There has to be a diamond in all this coal somewhere unless Jerry really did sell his soul for that last trophy.

Yes, because lucking into a small school unknown in drafted FA turning into a top 5-7 franchise QB = snake bitten
I mean recently.

But when you don't draft anyone and rely on cast offs.
Problems down the road.

stephen said backup QB was an offseason priority. Did nothing other than Dak and cannot even sign Foles.
They drafted a QB they liked. That is nothing? Can't even sign Foles? There was never any interest? Some of you guys need to back off the ledge a little.

Same can be said for DL and DB. We simply have done very little to address depth at our weekest positions.
Not sure if you have been keeping up, but we added a lot of young talent at both those positions the last couple of years.

So if the team went out and signed a FA QB or drafted a QB high, and they broke their leg, wouldnt we be in the same situation as we are now?

The doom and gloom on this site right now
There's every reason for doom and gloom. 3 suspensions on the defensive side of the ball, which happens to be the team's weakest unit, we waste ANOTHER second round pick on someone who won't contribute when we need defensive players BAD, no real viable backup QB, and Garrett is still our coach. OK, that last one is my opinion, but how are you going to facepalm anyone who is concerned about this team? You get the double :facepalm:

Did anyone actually watch Foles last year? Completed 56% of his passes and threw 7 TDs & 10 Interceptions... He also had a great defense and one of the best runningbacks in the league. Why did we want him?
Did you watch Matt Cassel, Brandon Weeden, or Kellen Moore last year?

I agree. It seems like he is on when he says someone has something. I had hopes for Tapper and was impressed by his college film, it sounds like it has translated to the NFL once the pads came on.

Because it happens every year on this board. Some on here dont put some of the news in to perspective.
Here is what im talking about:

Backup QB: People on here are upset we didnt sign Nick Foles. Someone who had an extremely poor year and was benched for Case Keenum.

Fans on here are already freaking out about rumors of us trading for a backup, when we dont know what we are offering

Jaylon Smith: Fans are complaining about drafting him with our 2nd rounder because he probably wont play this year. What if he comes back next year 100% and we have a dominant MLB for the next decade? Was it worth it?

D-Line: Yes the two suspensions hurt here but 1. Lawerence is coming back this year 2. While Gregory probably is done here, he still hadnt proved anything when he was playing and 3. We are ignoring the big upgrades we made at DT. Replacing Nick Hayden, probably our worst defensive starter, with Cedric Thornton was a major upgrade. Add in the fact that Crawford, although has a sore back right now, will be healthy and Maliek Collins will be back, our Dline has more depth than its had in years.

Look at the 2014 offseason. We lost our 3 best defensive players for the season (Ware, Hatcher, Lee) and the defense was still better than it was the year before.

Ive seen posters on here complaining about Dez having a blister :lmao2:

Let thing play out people, we arent even a week in to camp yet.

Conversely, what if he never plays a down, or because of the nature of his injury, is a complete JAG?

Tyrone Crawford has literally done nothing to warrant that contract we gave him. I don't get the love for that guy.

The Dez blister thing. I was complaining that it may alter his practice schedule. Its a DAMN BLISTER. That's what wrong with a Jason Garrett TC.

Ok so why cant he be bkup for this year?? did they draft him so he could bkup in 2018 ??
any bkup they put out there is not expected to win more than 1/2 of the games, and any vet would have to also learn
the cowboy offense.
having the run game we have, I dont see a need for a vet qb.

stephen said backup QB was an offseason priority. Did nothing other than Dak and cannot even sign Foles. Now will have to waste a draft pick. Because this team does not believe in being proactive, but waiting until there is a crisis and the league knows we have to pay through the nose. Same can be said for DL and DB. We simply have done very little to address depth at our weekest positions. And then spend 2nd round picks on redshirt players. SMH
They should have expected Moore to break his leg?

When he was option two behind not making a move for Lynch, that tells me how much they thought of him.

Can't even sign Foles? There was never any interest?
So interested we said he wasn't good enough to take snaps from a mediocre player like Moore, then suddenly liked him more after a twig leg snapped.
Some of you guys need to back off the ledge a little.
And some of you guys need to wake up and realize how we are walking an injury tightrope with Romo that we honestly had every opportunity to avoid.

how about they not practice in such a way he gets a broken leg in 1st week! lol
better to let the other team injure your players, the cowboys tend to take out their own players.
What if some ol rolls up on tonys leg ??

I really hope Dallas does something next offseason. I will enjoy this season even though we're are not going to be a contender. I expect at least 9-10 wins.

That is not snake bitten
That is not having a plan
Well they may have had a plan this year to draft a QB high but the Rams and Eagles jumped up and made deals the Cowboys would not go near.

I find it hard to believe that Jerry does not have a sit down with at the very least Scouting - both college and pro - Steven and Garrett on the position by position basis.

And not have short and long range plans.
