Everyone is writing Randy Gregory off. I'm not

Gregory had top ten talent, was considered the best pass rusher in that class last year.

With well-documented mental and substance abuse issues that led to many teams passing on him. I'm rooting for him and the team, obviously, but would probably take a slightly more conservative approach in the first 3 rounds if the draft than JJ.

There are real, negative effects to long term MJ use
just like cigarettes. MJ just like alcohol has long term negative effects on the body. No one, without an agenda, can deny that.

Maybe some breathing issues problems if you smoke it for decades. The largest study of its kind found no other medical issues (and there may be some benefits). So, perhaps, you're the one with the agenda.

Maybe you should start following another sport like Curling or Bowling. Federal law trumps State law in every case. If the Feds want to test
and intervene in these Liberal States that have passed MJ laws they can and would win in Federal court. Yes the NFLPA could try and get the NFL
drug testing removed from the CBA but, they know that's a loser with the Public Relations war and besides, the NFLPA just wants more money
and benefits and isn't going to argue long for relaxed drug testing rules. Your agenda is clear but, the majority of the American public doesn't agree with
you. No RED state is going to vote MJ laws in my friend.

Neither side in the us govt wants to get involved with state laws legalizing pot.

I am cheering for him in life; I could care less about him as a Cowboy. He needs to get his life right, with or without football.

I can only hope our children, which are our future, don't become a community of potheads
or alcoholics. What a terrible shame that would be.

Yeah, because under the influence they might ruin our economic and political systems and lead us in to wars. Reefer madness!

So do you think those were the only times during that 5 years or just the times he got caught?

Doesn't matter. It would only be unprovable speculation and a complete waste of time.

We know what Gregory has done.

I get it. He was seemed genuinely sorry for his draft mistake and said all the right things to make us believe that he was going to put the doobies down and focus on becoming a dominate football player. And instead, the dude burns us and fails a few drug tests. It's irritating and ticks me off too. Especially after he said it wouldn't happen again. So I understand why people are writing him off.

But if he can lay off the chronic after he comes back, he could be a difference maker for this defense. There's a reason why he was a top 5 talent in his draft class. He's a special talent. He flashed it last preseason and before his injury last year. And he has a year under his belt now.

I think he will be a force when he comes back. He and Lawrence both. Add Collins, Thornton, Mayowa, Tapper and a healthy Crawford to those two, and I think our pass rush will be better than what people expect.

The guy has two strikes against him. He cant get off the weed and he has mental problems. Anxiety, depression, ect...ect.... The more this guy gets in trouble the more anxiety he has. Guys like this simply cant handle the pressure. Being a DE with the Cowboys and having a lot expected of you is really a recipe for disaster. He is one more failed drug test away from a year suspension. He didnt even show in the 6 or so games he did play. You are much better off writing him off and the Cowboys will be smarter if they assume they wont get much out of him and plan accordingly. He was my favorite draft pick from last year I had high hopes for him. But the fact that he failed the test 3 more times after the draft just tell you that he is screwed. Personally I think ruining a guys career because of pot is stupid. People should be able to smoke weed if they choose to.

They didn't go into detail... Except to say Hardy held a lot of sway with the defensive linemen.

They did say Gregory had issues dealing with the long injury layoff and the coming back and not playing.

The kid probably got very depressed and did the wrong thing.

Greg Hardy is now the scapegoat for everything that went wrong with this team in 2015.

Now people are even trying to blame Gregory's own mistakes on him when all factual evidence says the complete opposite.

Randy Gregory had issues with weed before he ever met Greg Hardy. It's asinine for anyone to think otherwise of to in any way try to blame Hardy for Gregory's mistakes.

Greg Hardy has never been suspended for drugs in the NFL.

Hardy can have plenty of issues, but he's not some devil forcing innocent guys like Randy Gregory down the wrong path.

This 'Greg Hardy is the devil!' crap needs to stop.

It will be an upfield battle for Gregory, I really don't like his chances.

the cowboys made two huge mistakes last year they signed greg hardy and drafted randy Gregory and neither will be a benefit to the dallas cowboys. Another huge waste of a seond round pick when jerry thought he could outsmart everyone else.

When guys get injured in college or have issues that may cause them to drop in the draft some people see a red flag where Jerry sees a golden opportunity. An opportunity to get a guy with amazing talent for a discount.

Really dude...Just look at some of our so called Potheads and their loss of cognitive function. How about a long conversation
with Cheech & Chong. I have no agenda...just enforce the Federal Drug laws on the books. I'm not for putting drug smokers
or users into jail...just drug pushers. I'm for raising taxes on all drugs, alcohol, MJ and other recreational drugs to pay for
our healthcare to treat them.

All in sheer desperation for a pass rush, which never materialized anyway.

I'll bet you dollars to donuts that this year the pass rush will improve without either of them.

I am not giving up on him but disappointed in him because of his selfish actions. He made the choice to go out and get high which caused the failing of the test and because of that the team must pay the price of having to find replacement for him for the 1st 4 games. If he continues to do these thing the suspension will be longer and more costly to the team.

I have no doubts he can be an impact player on the field but does not do the team much good sitting out a quarter of the season.

That's been happening since the 1960's. Our economic growth in the U.S. has been steadily declining since 1972 and we're becoming just like
Europe. Open a book and do some reading. Oh, potheads can't really understand what they read...I forgot.

ONLY a total and complete blind HOMER would actually think that the pass rush would get better. Our top 3 pass rushers are out for at least 4 games and the best one isnt even on the team anymore. We are playing a 4th round rookie at RDE to start the season and taking our best DT and moving him over to DE just because he have no one else. And that is all with no injuries yet. One guy goes down and were looking on the waiver wire for a starter. The only hope of mounting a pass rush is to be up by 20 points and send 10 guys because you can take the risk.

Perhaps those to which you anecdotally refer did not have sufficient "cognitive function" in the first place? I can also point to many cognitively challenged individuals who are not users. Then I can point to geniuses and captains of industry who are.

The War on Drugs has been an epic failure. Billions spent with no results to speak of.

Raising taxes as a means to influence behavior is immoral in a free society. But if you choose to make this argument, we would be better served in raising taxes on sugary and fatty, unhealthy food which creates much more of a burden on our healthcare system.

The pass rush will be better because:

1. The interior of Thornton and Crawford will provide much better interior pressure than before. That helps the ends.

2. Lawrence is ready to surface as the player he was drafted to be. Pass rushers take time to develop.

3. Most importantly, the Dallas offense will force opposing offenses to take more chances. Having the lead in the second half with a dangerous offense that can EXTEND that lead forces opponents to score more and score faster. That makes them more predictable.
