Maybe when we see Bennett in the game at TE we will be seeing our new WR Jason Witten out wide or in the slot catching first downs. Sort of adding a number 2 receiver from our own roster.

By utilizing the ignore feature would have caused me to miss such jewels as the 30 yard slant.

It's a fine line between comedic value and sheer mind splitting pain sometimes.

The only WR possibly worthy of our second round pick was James Hardy and we would have had to move up to get him. The value just wasn't there this year.

The Bennet pick is growing on me after seeing him in action against Denver.

No it is not dire. We will be ok and furthermore no WR taken in the first round of this years draft would have made an impact.

Don't buy into the Martellus negativity and don't be surprised if he turns into a very good pro.

There weren't any WR's taken in the first round of the draft, neither was Bennett.

And how on earth can anyone know if a WR would have or will make an impact when the season hasn't started yet? WR's not taken in the first round make an impact just about every year, why would this be any different?

And people keep saying, "Who should we have taken instead?" basing it on where players ended up going now that they know the outcome of the draft, when DURING the draft there is plenty you can do to put yourself in position to get a player you want.

No, it wasn't a great year for WR's, but if you never draft one, then you'll never have any unless you want to sign a new T.O. every couple of years.

I have only one person on my ignore list. He just brings nothing to the table except lame points of view that he defends to all get out... but not with any actual defense, just by screaming the loudest for the longest. Jerry can do no right.....drafts the best available player who has some issues but has some upside and drafts him where all the mediots and gurus projected him to go...

I think you may be missing the point, we obviously needed a TE after we traded Fasano. Now the argument is whether you think we needed to trade Fasano and draft a TE in the 2nd round.

Regardless of how good Bennett becomes, the chances he'll be better than Witten are very slim. So assuming Witten stays healthy, how many balls do you think Bennett will catch in any given year?

Say Witten gets hurt, what chance does Bennett even have at keeping the starting job? Slim to none. Regardless of how well he plays in Witten's absense.

Name a team with two TE's that catch 50 balls a piece, per year? Are we going to invent a whole new type of offense?

Jerry shouldn't take a WR just because there is a need. That is how we drafted in the 90's.

Remember, David LaFluer, Clay Shiver, Quincy Carter, Shante Carver, etc.

All of these were wasted draft picks, just because we needed a player at a certain position.

We now know that the Cowboys were targeting Limas Sweed in the 2nd. They thought he would be there and he wasn't, so Jerry and Co. went back to their board and took the player that was the best fit instead of reaching. Good move IMO.

Jerry has learned from his mistakes thankfully, and he is drafting better. I don't have a problem with the Bennett pick.
