They made the playoffs, that means they were in contention for the championship.

You're not very good at this.

lol. I thought the 2 superbowl teams were ACTUALLY contending for the championship. How did I miss that.

You're not very good at this.

Don't want him.

For football and non-football issues, but I'll keep opinions to myself on the latter.

Murray is 4 years younger and coming off one of the best seasons a Cowboys running back has ever had...

Why people want him gone so badly is beyond me...

What if Peterson is telling the Vikings he'd like a fresh start in Dallas? Would you still want to keep him around knowing he's not mentally there anymore?

To me this is the key to the whole deal. If Peterson truly desires to play in Dallas, it'll get done.

This is very possible, but in this scenario, I think Minnesota holds him until close to the draft or even after in order to create leverage.

Yeah, your first mistake was "I thought". You don't do it well.

If you've qualified for the playoff tournament, you're in contention for the championship.

If you didn't, you're not in contention.

You can try - and fail - to change the rules to somehow substantiate the failed point you attempted to make, but it doesn't mean anyone other than you believes it.

Have fun on the island of one.

They would actually be sticking it to themselves carrying his $15 million cost on their cap.

Personal attacks. Original.

You can ONLY contend in the game actually played in. I am having fun.

I would be both shocked and amazed if the Vikings were to keep him under his current contract.

I think they will try to restructure but Peterson says he wants to play there, the Vikes want him there and he is under contract. Vikes have a young QB and a good way to protect him is with the ability to run the ball effective instead of trying to ride the arm of a 2nd year QB. I think people were reading way to much into the fact that Peterson and Jones had talked as if that meant he was coming to Dallas. Peterson is not looking to give discounts and while he may restructure he has said he does not intend to take a pay cut.

Probably because we don't want to pay a position.... A rb no less... For what he did in the past.

Also if you're being honest Murray isn't special and his season was more (mostly?) due to the line.

If it was all the line then Murray would not have carried the ball as often as he did. Coaches evidently felt he was the best option and if it was just about the OL then Dunbar could have done as much as Murray but he didn't. OL plays a part Murray has said the same and Murray did a lot having more yards after contact than any RB in the league and the OL players have also acknowledge the importance of Murray

You simply misspoke....

Or

You don't know what the word "contention" means and how to apply it properly.

No big deal.

Faulty logic.

He can be the best rb on our roster (he was) and still be largely succeeding because he was running behind the best offensive line in football.

And that's the key component for me. I think his talk about wanting to return there is all about his current contract.

If the Vikings are willing to pay him $15 million for the next several years, he's willing to play for Minnesota. If they're not, he's not.

And again, in my opinion, the Vikings are a young, rebuilding team. I think they can make much better use of $15 million than by keeping Peterson there. They're not winning anything any time soon and I think it would be a mistake to keep going down that road.

But has too much pride to admit it. He likely won't admit the mistake no matter how many of us tell him.

I said my piece and I'm done with it.

I know that he far and away led the league in yards before contact. That's the direct result of the line blocking exceptionally well.

Because you disagree? LOL All top RB benefit from their OL no one is running behind a poor OL and producing but if it was all OL Murray would not have been leaned on as much as he was, hell we could have gotten just as much production from Dunbar and Randle but the fact is we didn't. It is amazing to see the length of people disrespecting a RB who not only won the rushing title but was 480 ahead of the 2nd leading rusher. Murray is a damn good back to bad some can't see it.

Yes because you want their RB. LOL He is not coming to Dallas, he is not looking to give some sweet heart deal and play for chump change.

Again. No.

Please read what I write.

First I didn't day it was all the OL. If I did please quote where I said it.

Next Murray can be our best running back on the roster and so given most of the work and still be a product largely of our phenomenal offensive line.

The two aren't mutually exclusive.
