Unless you trade down you have to pay someone that money. I'd rather spend it on the top rb that I'm confident in than reach for a player lower on my board who I feel could be a bust. Pick according to your board, and forget all the other bs.
In 35 games at Ohio State, Ezekiel Elliott fumbled the football zero times.
He's got 10"+ hands. 99 percentile for RBs. And he hold the ball high and tight like Tiki Barber when he runs
On my board Zeke is not a top five prospect I have him rated 15th so no I don't take him at 4.

Everyone saying he's the safest pick in this draft
And that's fine. If you don't like the player I agree you don't take him. I just believe you play your board, and I hate the idea of being locked into cetain position's(qb,de,ot) early on because some aren't worthy(rb,g,dt). I won't argue with anyone who wants other players because they believe they truly project better to the nfl than zeke.
In the last 20 years, the Cowboys have used about 2/3 of their first round picks on defense and when they did go offense, it has not been on flash players except twice - Dez and Felix. I think Jerry gets a bogus rap on the flash players thing.
We draft defensive players 2 to 1 over offensive players in the first round yet we've seldom had top defenses.
I'm ready for another top offensive skill player myself instead of settling for later round ones with lower ceilings. Since QB is pretty much off the table at 4 give me Zeke.

I get your point but when did tiki barber become a good standard for ball security?
I just remember he had ball security issues and had to relearn how to run w ball "high and tight". He greatly improved.
The closer we get the more confident i am hes the pick, however a trade down or Turnsil would be hard to resist
Here's another one: he's 20 years old and will turn 21 before the season starts. In comparison to the other top prospects (age shown is age at season start):
Henry - 22
Booker - 24
Dixon - 22
Procise - 22
Perkins - 21
Williams - 22
There is simply no excuse why Zeke shouldn't be a Cowboy in a few days.
In 35 games at Ohio State, Ezekiel Elliott fumbled the football zero times.
All those pining over Zeke better never have been those who hammered Jerry on liking shiny objects at the detriment to the Cowboys.
