The biggest case of CYA ever.........RBs at 4 are

not only OK, it is the surest way to get a HoFer

This idea of 'value at 4' is a made up construct by wanna be draftniks....getting EE at 4 is huge win

Still clucking?

Any guess on how many of the 16 HoF RBs since the merger where drafted in the Top 10?

12, the answer is 12........with 2 more in the first round and one in the 2nd and 1 in the 3rd

Drafting an RB at 4 is bad if your team isn't constructed like the Dallas Cowboys, which had it's most success as a run first team and had an O-line to support that. A lot of rbs taken in the top 10 are going to teams with bad O lines and generally bad offenses, and defenses can just hone in on that rb. The cowboys actually have the weapons to punish teams if they want to focus solely on stopping the run.

Lol, what is the infatuation with you folks in constantly trying to direct the discussion to HOF talk? Are you saying Zeke is a surefire HOF? Because it's the only possible reason to keep incessantly bringing it up.

If not, then shut up about it.

Murray came in the 3rd. Not only did he league the lead in rushing he broke several Cowboys and NFL records along the way. And like so often happens he hasn't been worth his 2nd contract. Which is the real issue you're stupidly ignoring.

And yes Zeke does lead the league in rushing. He also leads in attempts. There is correlation there.

And while we are on the subject...yes I'd absolutely rather have had Jalen Ramsey on Jeremy Kerley than sixth round rookie Anthony Brown. That matchup almost cost us the game.

But please go on and continue to show your football ignorance. As if Zeke leading the league in yards and attempts after 4 weeks justifies the terrible use of a limited resource.
Ignorantly absurd.

I do in fact think he can and because it makes your opinions about him look stupid

So does reminding everyone of how dumb it is every thread about EE

Yes. It's just the draftniks. Oh and these billion dollar corporations that are NFL teams that generally avoid RB that high like the plague. There is a reason why. The RB gets hurt. They age terribly. And you can find production from lesser talent later in the draft routinely.

History is not on your side. I feel very comfortable in my stance.

I am here to officially eat my plate of Crow ala Zeke. I was abjectly against the pick when it was made, and thought we would pay for it for the next four years.

Instead, for the next five plus years we are going to have the best all-purpose back in the league, and even if Ramsey is a player (I think he is), Zeke is a Cowboy and there is no way I would have it any other way.

I apologize to the supporters of the Zeke pick that I gave "likes" to your detractors. I handed out several hundred, conservatively, as at the time I was too chicken **** to actually post on this board, so my voice was my "like."

With the consistency of Mo, and Byron balling, Ramsey isn't as much of a necessity as it seemed he would be before the draft.

Zeke is life. I'm on the wagon, please make room for my tush.

I was curious why you never posted. Welcome to the jungle.

Thank you, ACF. You're one of my very favorite posters on this board (as I'm sure you can tell :) )

I was intimidated by the profound amount of knowledge presented on this board, but finally couldn't take it any more as all of my friends either don't like sports/football, or follow the Raiders (living in LA). I couldn't take it anymore.

But I digress (yet, again).

Zeke is THE man. :)

"History" is most recently not on your side. Your argument would be valid if Zeke would have fallen far in the draft. But I'm confident he would have been taken top 10, just like Gurley and Gordon were taken top 15 last year, and just like Fournette will be taken high next year. There was a brief, recent period in which NFL teams didn't draft RBs high, and that trend is shifting the other way because teams are winning on the backs of RBs. Oh, and did you ever think that the brief period in which RBs weren't taken high maybe, just maybe, had more to do with the prospects and not the position itself?
