Dorian Thompson-Robinson is my favorite QB prospect. Would love a QB who can take off and run
I looked at his HL, and ucla plays a lot of crap teams.
and I think hearing DTR all the time would get old fast.

I'm not sure a QB will be drafted at all, although I think there is a good chance it could happen middle to late rounds. They won't be looking for a near term starter, just a developmental guy.
everybody says that, guess you never saw NO play and taysom hill ??
get a running qb and they can be used this season.

With the QB room being the same as it was last season, well last few seasons.
This is about what round will the choose a QB to groom.

I will also add this article, from the Mailbag, instead of a different thread. What if the BPA is a QB?
Nick has an interesting take, but sounds a bit crazy but also makes a bit of sense....BAN....Best Available Need.....

The Cowboys need to identify the QB's that have potential and take one that they like every three years regardless of round. However, they can't just limit themselves to 3rd day picks. If they find a guy they like in the 1st round or 3rd round, etc, then they need to take him.

As long as they only have one viable option at the position, then they are open to being extorted by their starter's agent. They would be in much better negotiating position if that QB wasn't their only realistic option.

We need to start preparing for a new starting QB. Prescott is injury prone and is likeky to miss games again next season and he should be cut before the start of next season.
2nd rounder on a QB.
Right, let’s cut him and start whoever we draft in the second round this upcoming season or go with Cooper Rush. If it was up to a majority of this board that would be the plan. LOL

I would like it addressed between rounds 2-4 if there are QBs they think have start potential. I have to wonder if they’ve even done the needed homework to evaluate starter potential QBs in the draft.

However, if they are certain to extend Dak, then I wouldn’t even bother drafting one. I’d grab a free agent to compete for QB room bottom dweller.

Late rounds 5th or 6th.

At best...4th mid rds.

Project Mike White type developmental QB.

How many compensatory picks do we have?

A round too late to make a difference unless you luck out and stumble your way into finding another Brady type.
Interesting. But if the Cowboys lucked into drafting a Brady clone, talent, smarts, etc. Jerry and Stephen would probably announce "he's too tall" and summarily waive him.

Henderson Hooker from Tennessee in the 4th or 5th round. I think he would be good to groom.

Taysom Hill wasn't drafted at all, and it's not as if Taysom Hill type players are the norm in the league and everybody is stepping on themselves to draft them. The Cowboys still appear to view Dak as their franchise guy, so If they were to draft that type of player at all it would likely be late in the draft.

Exactly, and there are some QBs that I think that are players the coaches can develop into potential starters or long/term injury backups like DTP, Duggan, or Tune.
