Fastest Cowboy Ever? And most impressive NFL 40?

My money is on Bob Hayes...and he changed the secondary in the NFL. Deion was electric, and got paid for it although...which left Hayes in the bleachers on cash flows.
 
Olympic Gold medalist Bob Hayes still the fastest in NFL history.

There is no record of a 40 time but he ran a 60 in 5.28.

Bob Hayes was the inspiration for the creation of zone coverage.

The Cowboys once drafted three QB’s in the same draft just to find someone with a strong enough arm to where Bob Hayes didn’t have to stop and go back for the ball.
 
I remember that Randall Williams play. Was that the play that elicited the Parcell's "Jap plays" line?

The part of his game that amazes me just as much is his run defense. You would think at that size, he'd be some measure of a liability against the run and that's not the case. He's truly an amazing player.

Jay Ratliff was a poor man Donald in that regard. Undersized, especially for a NT a decade+ ago, but was just too quick for the Center/Guard to get their hands on him.

No, in truth it wasn't a great demonstration of Randal Williams speed. But there were urban legends that Randal W ran a 4.1.

No one will believe that--I sure don't. But no one will EVER be able say they scored a TD 3 seconds into a game. That will never, ever, ever, ever be matched.

I remember that. It was an Eagles surprise onsides kick that turned out to be not such a surprise and blew up in their face. It was hilarious.

The problem is back in the day (post 1995) Jerry would ***** the forty times lower than what they actually were. He had Randall Williams at a 4.2 or something and had most of our wrs at 4.3 or lower. Problem is when they were on the field it showed.

Below I'll link to the greatest *demonstration* of speed in NFL history. He scored the fastest touchdown. 3 seconds into the game. 14:57 into the first quarter and he had a touchdown. How is that possible? Do you know his name and the legend of his purported 40 time?

There is one well known lineman who weighs in at 284 pounds. He ran a 4.69 at the combine. Do you know his name? I'll give you a clue: the word impressive is an understatement to everything he does on a football field.

Yeah, it was that kid Williams against the Eagles. They foolishly tried an onside kick to start the game, Williams grabbed it and had clear sailing to the end zone.

The two fastest I've ever seen with the Cowboys are Deion Sanders and Joey Galloway.

Tavon Austin may be right there too.
 
Awuzie just clocked the highest MPH in a game since 2017.

According to rumors, the Cowboys invited Usain Bolt to try out as a WR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alexander Wright was extremely fast in a straight line. He ran a 4.14 forty.

There was a guy in camp one year that Garrett's Dad said was the best athlete that he had ever seen. Jim Garrett claimed he timed him at 4.0 in the forty.

Teddy Williams ran a 9.90 100 meters. I think his forty was low 4.2x.

Tavon Austin in college was as fast as anybody I've seen on the field just from a visual perspective. He has some of the all time best college highlights.

I can give an answer to this no way question in my mind, when we're talking about the guy whose sheer speed dominated and revolutionized the game and how the NFL teams had to devise how to play him in Bullet Bob Hayes, who also made his dominance felt in the fastest contest in the Olympic Games, and we ain't talkin about just a 40 time but a lengthier 100 meters.

they can keep their scrubs like 4.14 Alexander Wright, ..and Randall Williams, and even HOF Deion Sanders and his supposedly 4.29 per pre-draft NFL combine - but I will always cast my vote on the " World's Fastest Human " in Bullett Bob Hayes. :bow:

not a surprise, and this is a fact vs a rumor .. as Cowboys actually drafted the rights of Olympic legend Carl Lewis to be an WR.
