I like Favre

And I think if the man wants to continue playing ..... he should.

But this constant pretend retiring just makes him look silly IMNHO.

I agree except for that

I'll probably be the only happy fan in the forum. Love this, even though it makes them a tough team to beat.

I'm with you. Love Favre. He is one of the truly finest football players I've seen in my lifetime.

He is beyond the most selfish player in the league. I used to like him. I hope he has a miserable season.

I will never tire of watching him play the game and this stuff just doesn't bother me. I can't figure out why it should.

Somewhat OT: Assuming this happens, does Favre put up better numbers than Cassel and Pennington. Thats the 2 QB's I have in my league, and I am #3 on the wavier wire :-D

Supposedly he's getting a one year deal for 12M.

100% right. Why should it bother anyone he is coming back? If a team wants to pay him more power to him. It makes the Vikes much more interesting this year.

Oops, I agreed with you....

I'm with ya, actually. I love Favre and like watching him play. I'm glad he's back in the league. And yeah, it'll make Minny a very formidable opponent this year. Cowboys/Vikings NFC Championship?? Would be a good one...

It's the way he keeps retiring. If he wants to play again fine just stop all the drama and just admit he doesn't want to go through TC like the rest of the team.

Why do some of you care if he constantly retires and then un-retires? Does it really affect your lives that much?

If the Vikings want him, and he wants to play, what's wrong with that?

I've enjoyed him over the years, but I worry what would happen if the "stuff" isn't there anymore. I hate to see players playing past their due date. Emmitt going to Arizona was sad for me. I wish him no ill will, but if it doesn't work, then a bunch of people will look bad.

Favre is just the microcosm of the bigger problem of NFL players (most of them that is)

they think they are bigger than just playing a game, and think that the world revolves around them

One year 12 mil....WOW

I do think its a great move for the Vikes....only because of what they have on the roster at QB right now....Favre is better than Sage and Tavaris

I can see how that could be irritating if you were a GB or Jets fan especially. For me I just don't care how he handled or mishandled his last two moves. In the end he's the Vikings QB and the NFC just got tougher.

$10 says Farve retires again before the season is over. :laugh2:

I don't know about before but it's a safe bet he will after the season is over only to come back again after TC is over.

I think he will come back only to get injured. You know, broken hip or something of the sort. :D

You have a decent point IMO.

Favre gets more of a free pass because he's adored by the media.

If this were Michael Strahan doing this, it would be doubtful people would be expressing the same sort of "if he wants to, why not" opinion. Imagine more if it were Terrell Owens pulling this peekaboo act each offseason.

I am numb to it. I don't think he's the missing piece to the Vikings puzzle any more than he was a solution for the Jets. Of course, he's better than what they have but they still shouldn't be crowned because they have him on board. I will admit though it would be nice if the Vikings visited our new stadium and we could render him 0-forever against us in Dallas.

You're not the only one .. I've not fallen for the constant media (ESPN and others) ranting about Brett Favre .. I think it is a great move for the Vikings and if I were Favre, I'd play as long as I could too.

Favre is not as good as he was in his younger years, but he's still a lot better than any of the other Vikings' quarterbacks they have.

Most may not agree with me, but oh well .. at least I have good company :D

I know you guys love Farve and if the guy wants to play football, let him play. Sure, there is truth to that. However, his crying, I'm done, multiple retirements is embarrasing as well as most selfish. His ego is bigger than T.O.'s ever was.

He holds franchises hostage. Undermines the current QB situation because he is Lord Farve. Give me a break. Not fair to current guys, regardless if they are better or not.

I'll put it in other terms. You are hired at a job or in some people's case here, hired to do a job. You are excited about the opportunity, you deserve it. Or you have a job and were given promotion. But wait, a non-commital retireee decides for the 17th time that he really does not want to retire and wants his old job back, which was your job. How do you feel? Not too good. And to say that that Farve or the retiree coming back and taking your job is better than you is debatable. You feel pretty ****ty about the company right now.

Throw some more picks Farve, please.
