Because I don't care about his act. This is the NFL, not an episode of Inside Edition.

You don't care about it dominating the news cycle or ESPN coverage, obliterating real news in the process? If so, you're special in that regard.

Forget it. He won't be remembered for the TDs or the Super Bowls, but rather as an aging, broken-down dilettante who didn't know when to hang it up, and who selfishly jerked millions of people around just because he could.
Disagree.

It may take a few years, but this stuff will likely all be forgotten. Even if it's not, the media will mostly portray it as the confliction of an icon who loved the game so much that it was beyond agonizing for him to walk away... and there's a lot of truth to that anyways.

I agree that he's been selfish about it, but he won't be remembered for this. Not in the long-run. It'll be the Super Bowls, the MVPs, the ridiculous streak of starts, his toughness, and his pure love of the game. As it should be.

The media will try to spin it that way, but most fans are beyond tired of his act. He's the biggest drama queen in the NFL and it's not even close. That's how many fans will remember him.

I can't wait to see him fail in Minnesota and oh, he will fail.

I can't help myself. Once his consecutive starts streak is broken and if he wanted to be a backup, I'd take him in Dallas.

I think one reason I like Romo so much is he reminds me of Brett a little. Not exactly like him, but the gunslinger stuff. I love that.

Who? Peter "I love #4" King? The rest of his colleagues are beyond sick of this spectacle.

Nope. He'll be remembered as a punch-drunk fighter who didn't know when to gracefully hang it up. Oh, and the GB fans will really hate him for "defecting" to a loathed rival.

I'll probably be the only happy fan in the forum. Love this, even though it makes them a tough team to beat.
Make that two. Favre is the one and only non-Cowboy player whom I truly like. To me, the guy represents everything that is great about the game I love.

And for the record, that team with Favre on it is significantly better and an instant contender.

Actually, I said that I don't care about Favre's act. If he want's to announce his retirement twice and then change his mind...twice, whatever. That's his choice, I guess.

As for this dominating the news, no I don't like it, but there's not much I can do about it except change the channel...which is what I do.

Speaking of which, it does appear as if a lot of people are pissed at Favre because this story is going to dominate the news, but is that really Favre's fault? Did he really do this just because he wants a headline or is it because he's finding it difficult to leave football? None of us REALLY know for sure, but what I can say with near certainty is this: ESPN and others blow this sort of story up because they know that people love this kind of stuff. Hell, just take a look at this thread. Ever since it started it's been the hottest thread going.

Are there 32 QBs better than him? If so Minnesota sure didn't have one of them. I don't mind these guys playing as long as they can. I don't care about his wishy washy retirements. I just enjoy what they bring as far as entertainment in the games and Favre entertains me.

I think he'd make a great candidate for Bold and the Beautiful

Brett Favre has been overrated for years. It is his PERSONALITY that people love more than anything. He is a selfish drama queen who loves to be front and center. When the pressure is on he defaults to the "launch one up" mode. Get ready Vikings fans for some big time interceptions when you can least afford them. He'll just break another team's heart this year that puts its trust in him. Bank on it.

One thing -- I do think his streak of starting every game since he got his first one is amazing. I bet that ends this season, and that's kind of a shame because that would've been a great record to have.

I don't have problems

I solve 'em

not really a problem though, just don't like how you act like someone's opinion is not worth your time

just disagree, don't be snarky about it
