His floor is Dalton Schultz.
Schultz was Witten light. He had good hands and regularly found the open spots. Ferguson has the ability to make the defender miss in the open field. Several times Ferguson has caught a pass just short of the first down marker and he puts a move to get the first down. He’s a better blocker than Schultz too. Upgrade in my book.

He's adequate. Like Shultz was. We are an offense that features TEs heavily so his volume is there in terms of targets. Athletically nothing special about any of our TEs. He's Cameron Brate, Hunter Hurst, Joe Johnson, Garrett Everett level of talent. There are guys like Njoku who would be lighting up the stat sheet if they were a focal point of the offense.

He’s moving further ahead of Luke Schoonmaker who continues to disappoint, He had an opportunity to make a great catch in the endzone but couldn’t hang onto it.
Which makes that draft pick even more infuriating. And it's not hindsight. That was a dumb pick the night it happened. To reach that high for a TE and that one in particular. A guy that doesn't move the needle at all and has injury history. You could find a talent like his in the final day of the draft if you wanted.
