That is the number of weeks they said they could shut down Dak so his injury can heal. Until then get used to him not throwing the ball and stop formulating alternate reasons why Dak is being rested. 2 to 4 weeks was what the Texas Rangers' medical staff recommended Dak be shut down to heal that particular injury which is known as a pitcher's injury.

All Dak needs to do is get himself ready to go for week 1. I'm not concerned with this, I think Cowboys are being very careful to maybe too much but I fully expect Dak to back on the field ahead of the season and be ready to start the season.

Sounds like a rotator cuff strain. As a former pitching coach, I've seen this injury quite a bit. Usually rest heals it. Very seldom does it mean more problems down the road. Dak might have to adjust his throwing motion some to prevent further damage in the future.

My fear is ... How does one truly get ready for Week 1 without any meaningful snaps since Week 4 of last year?

Just having Dak on the field is not going to make a difference. Dak has to play well and not be rusty if we want to compete.
