Well they are looking at Will Whittaker who is showing a lot of promise
You mean Will Whitticker... some expert on the Skins you are, LOL...
How exactly do you "show a lot of promise", in non-contact workouts, anyway??
Here's a reality check for you-- Whitticker started 14 of 15 games as a rookie for the Packers, and was SOOOO impressive that he was cut after that season... wound up with the Dolphins last year, couldn't even get on the field for them...
Miami wasn't exactly loaded with talented offensive linemen last year...
and there's Todd Wade but he's supposedly struggling.
There's a big surprise, a 6-8 mediocre offensive tackle is having a problem trying to move to guard... LOL...
Anyways, Dock was the worst linemen on our team,
Actually, that would be Rabach, who's a journeyman at best... more to the point, Dockery is FAR superior to anybody the Skins have on the roster who might wind up replacing him... beyond that, the Skins' already shaky depth is now shakier, because one of those reserves will now be the starter...
Portis had a separated shoulder and a very slightly sore knee and now he's breaking down? I don't buy it.
Portis isn't nearly big enough to carry the ball almost 700 times over two seasons, the way he did in 2004 and 2005... the plain truth of the matter is, he has never been the same running back for the Skins that he was with the Broncos... he averaged 5.5 yards per carry in Denver, that averaged has dropped precipitously, to 4.1 yards per carry, in Washington...
If he misses significant time this year then I'll start to worry, but he's had one major injury in his entire career to my recollection.
Go ahead and play Alfred E. Neumann, but Portis has missed 12 of 80 games thus far in his NFL career-- you could look it up... and smallish backs who are asked to carry the ball 350 times a season often find themselves starting to break down when the get up around 1500 carries for their carrier...
