you're pretty damn productive on the toilet, firehawk. I was reading "Naked Pictures of Famous People" (by Jon Stewart), and here you were refining QB criteria.

Well done.

Vision - The percentage of times the correct hole was found or cutback lane was used. Basically, it's has to be glaringly obvious that the runner could have gotten more yards by running in another direction.

Negative plays - Getting stuffed at the line or behind it, running up the blockers back or attempting to switch directions in a futile attempt to gain yards.

Production after contact - How many tackles are broken and how many yards are gained afterwards. Also, if the tackler hits the runner and the runner doesn't "break" it but still comes down 4-5 yards later, I will note that.

Elusiveness - How many unblocked defenders a running back makes miss completely and the amount of yards gained afterwards.

Breakaways - The number of plays where the runner gets completely behind the defense and results in a TD.

If you're gonna do the whole offense first, can I get a PM when you get to CB?

I was actually planning on doing this for a couple of other players, for my own reasons, so don't act like your that important to me. I just thought I'd throw in Newman while I was doing it and share my results with you guys.

who said i felt i was important to you? all i said was that you had some fetish going on and it was not likely you'd be as biased as you say.

We can all rest easy, now.

I like where you're going with this, firehawk - but I think you're setting yourself up for failure - unless you have ALOT of time on your hands. RB vision? Tough to evaluate from a sideline cam.

It's going to be a waste of his time, Iceberg. This whole thing is going to be HIS interpretation of a certain play. Like someone else mentioned, he does not know what is expected of a certain play, only actuall game tape and the coaches can do an analysis of this. Everyone does not see the same thing...so this is just his biased opinion, no matter what he proclaimes to be unbiased.

But if that is what he wants to do...go for it! It's not going to prove a damn thing in the end...except that his RedStinks are vastley superior to the Cowboys (from his minds point of view, which he always uses in his posts)...

;)

The only relevant numbers as it stands right now is, 9 -7 vs. 5 - 11...

As your favorite coach said, "You are what you are"...

Well, I am sure, firehawk, that you'll be your usual unbiased self when evaluating this/recording this and then later presenting the stats.

And if you'll excuse me, I've got to go. Jessica Alba is begging for more.

(Note, both scenarios have about the same chance of happening).

Unfortunately, that percent of chance is 0.

Well they are looking at Will Whittaker who is showing a lot of promise

You mean Will Whitticker... some expert on the Skins you are, LOL...

How exactly do you "show a lot of promise", in non-contact workouts, anyway??

Here's a reality check for you-- Whitticker started 14 of 15 games as a rookie for the Packers, and was SOOOO impressive that he was cut after that season... wound up with the Dolphins last year, couldn't even get on the field for them...

Miami wasn't exactly loaded with talented offensive linemen last year...

and there's Todd Wade but he's supposedly struggling.

There's a big surprise, a 6-8 mediocre offensive tackle is having a problem trying to move to guard... LOL...

Anyways, Dock was the worst linemen on our team,

Actually, that would be Rabach, who's a journeyman at best... more to the point, Dockery is FAR superior to anybody the Skins have on the roster who might wind up replacing him... beyond that, the Skins' already shaky depth is now shakier, because one of those reserves will now be the starter...

Portis had a separated shoulder and a very slightly sore knee and now he's breaking down? I don't buy it.

Portis isn't nearly big enough to carry the ball almost 700 times over two seasons, the way he did in 2004 and 2005... the plain truth of the matter is, he has never been the same running back for the Skins that he was with the Broncos... he averaged 5.5 yards per carry in Denver, that averaged has dropped precipitously, to 4.1 yards per carry, in Washington...

If he misses significant time this year then I'll start to worry, but he's had one major injury in his entire career to my recollection.

Go ahead and play Alfred E. Neumann, but Portis has missed 12 of 80 games thus far in his NFL career-- you could look it up... and smallish backs who are asked to carry the ball 350 times a season often find themselves starting to break down when the get up around 1500 carries for their carrier...

You identify your self-worth through a decision to loosely affiliate yourself with a group of guys you never met being dominant?

This from a guy who apparently plans on spending much of this coming season breaking down game film instead of doing his job... :D

I feel warm all over, knowing we have dedicated professionals like yourself keeping our country safe...

Randy Thomas is our best linemen, easily. He's a beast. Chris Samuel is the second best, again, no competition. Jansen didn't do well in run support but was good in pass protection and Casey Rabach did well in what centers were supposed to do. He made (mostly) the correct line calls and coordinated a unit that yielded only 17 sacks.

Hard to sack the quarterback when most of your pass plays are dumpoffs...

I won't remember this challenge in a couple of hours, what makes you think most of us are going to remember it a couple months from now?

why issue a regular season challenge now?

Well, I think that Washingtons O line is in trouble this year. IMHO, losing Dockery will hurt way more than the skins are letting on. They have nobody to replace him and if they go into the season with Wade, it might be a long year for Campbell.

Particularly when you take into consideration that their center is very average, they'll have a significant hole on the interior of their O line. If Thomas happens to miss any time, they are ******.

They face quite a few good defenses this season. More to the point, they face a lot of good D lines this year... some with very dangerous defensive minds running them.

Just taking a quick glance at their schedule you can see that they play quite a few games against teams that either have a defensive guru, a good D line, or both.

Commanders 2007 Schedule:

Miami - Good D line - Dom Capers - BOTH
Philly - Good D line - Jim Johnson - BOTH
NYG - Good D line
Detroit - Good D line (yes they have talent along the DL)
Green Bay -
Arizona -
New England - Good D line - Bill Belichick - BOTH
NYJ - Good D line - Bob Sutton - BOTH
Philly - Good D line - Jim Johnson - BOTH
Dallas - Good D line - Wade Phillips - BOTH
Tampa - Good D line - Monte Kiffin - BOTH
Buffalo -
Chicago - Good D line - Lovie Smith - BOTH
NYG - Good D line
Minnesota - Good D line
Dallas - Good D line - Wade Phillips - BOTH

Thirteen of the 16 teams they play have either a good D line or a good D line being run by a defensive guru.

Nine of them have both a good defensive line and one of the NFL's best defensive guys running things.

Plus, I'm not convinced that Arizona, Buffalo and Green Bay are going to have all that soft of a defense either. I think they might could surprise and play pretty well... defensively at least. In Arizona's case, they might be good period, because they have found their QB and the new coaches will instill the fundimentals they've lacked there. They have the WR's to be good, that's for sure.

Anyway, it could get ugly real quickly for Washington if they just half-arse plug the hole Dockery left with some schmuck like Wade. If they think Buge's can make chicken salad out of that chicken ****, then their betting too much on that. Actually, they're not only betting the 2007 season on it... but also the growth of their new #1 pick QB who is supposed to be their next savior.

Campbell might end up in the fetal position by the latter part of this year if the Commanders front office doesn't solidify the interior of their OL somehow.

Looking at it this way... I almost feel sorry for Campbell... almost.

I started reading this thread and it sounded interesting. It sounded like a lot of trouble but some OCD personality might actually go through with it. Then I discovered that Firehawk is a 'Skins fan and it became clear that anything he had to say was irrelevant.

On to next thread.
