Ya know something I've noticed here, Runny? None of our old group seems to spend near the time they did on the old forum, especially in gen pop.

I don't know if that's on purpose but this doesn't feel the same and I don't know if it ever will. I am trying to make the best of it but I get Juggsy's comment and I ask myself "do I feel better or worse:" after being out in gen pop.

And I don't think the members out there are being rude, they just have their own thing going and it's not easy to be a part of it. Fortunately for me, I can carry on a conversation with myself, even argue but I always stop short of personal insults and I've got all the dirt on me. I could really hurt my feelings.

Bottom line is this is the best we've got and we need to make the best of it. Look for what's here and not what's missing.

I try not to get that personal because I know (secrets).

Besides that, y'all have getting to my age to look forward to when you get to play "I am too damned old and set in my ways to change now". That pretty well covers everything and my philosophy is why in the hell would an old dog want to learn new tricks?

I invite kids into my yard just to yell at them to get off the lawn. They're confused, I am happy. I am a dirty old man and I know I am getting older, just hope dirtier accompanies that.

However, that funny old saying "if I'd known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself" does apply. Stuff wears out.

I think most of the old crew is either arguing with Gregg, or they're just not interested in getting to know a bunch of new people. Maybe we'll see more of them when the season starts, whether they're more interested, or we go to a more common forum.

By and large, the folks here seem pretty cool, and I just do what I do. If they dig it, cool. If they don't, cool. I'm still doing what I do, and I know you have the same philosophy.

Yeah, if the love of my life couldn't change me, a sports forum sure as hell isn't going to.

One thing I did learn about these places is that not everyone has the time to spend here so when they're here they pretty much connect with the ones they know well. It's like only having enough time at a party to say howdy to your friends, meeting new people will have to wait. And there are some that are only here for the football talk and view the other as nonsense and wasting their time. And some are contributing to come here to discuss the Cowboys, not CC's latest libation discovery. The poor things.

My fellow beloved members of the PJG, heed the warning. The police are far less tolerant of jacking out in gen pop as they feel they've provided other areas for screwing around. They do strive to keep the topic on topic and that really is out of respect for the one that started it.

I really liked our mods over there because they were more lenient with some of us because they played with us. They allowed us to do our own thing because they were part of it. They made the mistake of becoming friends with the inmates and not giving us our medicine on time. I know several cut me some slack and probably shouldn't have because I am that "give him an inch, he'll take a mile" kid.

And speaking of kids, and I was, that's what we are here. We're the new kids at the school and just need time to get acclimated. We'll be fine.
