Ahhhhhh...it seems like just yesterday fans were praising the LVE and Jaylon picks.

“We’re so good at drafting”
“We got a steal”

KJ is really good setting the edge at SAM, and his instincts n quickness in the middle at MIKE can help there too.

If you want to have a good defense this is what you do...stack good players. Nothing wrong with having 4 starter quality LBs, actually that's the goal.

A smart ownership and coaching staff will realize over the course of a game, let alone a season, a guy like KJ Wright will make smart plays that contribute to winning.

We know the opposite can be said about Jaylon.

An impotent coaching staff and braindead ownership would say “well, we already paid this guy this much, so we have to play him...”

In all honesty. LVE probably won’t make it thru TC and we haven’t extended his 5th round option yet so. There’s where he fits.

When LVE announces he’s gone? Sure. I can definitely see it then.

Lol, I swear this is deja vu over and over again. Just like last year, and several other years, bring in a FA past his prime who has some nice accolades and “veteran leadership” to get all the fans drooling and then watch him not make a difference at all.

Every year people chirp “this guy is different” or “the situation is different” and every year the results are the same. We picked up 4-5 KJ Wrights last off season and only one is still on the roster by default due to injury and a naive, delusional owner.

Next thing will be “this is a great deal, we have nothing to lose”. Who cares, how about picking up an actual difference maker where there is something to lose?

*as has already been stated, I do agree that anyone but Jaylon will be an upgrade but I’m not expecting a huge difference defensively

Wright was rated 8th out of 84th linebackers last year.

McCoy, Poe, Worley and Clinton Dix were all on a downward slide on their careers.

Which guy was our KJ Wright last year?

False equivalence to compare Wright to Poe or Dix.

Yeah, we don't need to draft anybody with all those one year deals we hand out.
Many teams are signing players to 1 year deals this year. Are you paying attention to the salary CAP?

Dallas should be all in this year trying to renegotiate contracts etc. to get players, exactly like KJ Wright, to make a run at the Super Bowl.

This signing would make sense but I don't see how they use all the pieces. Would they pay w money to people and only use them part-time? Wright isn't young so he isn't the long term solution either.
If KJ Wright is a better player than Jaylon, then YES, they definitely should play KJ Wright as a starter and play Jaylon part time. Smart people learn from their mistakes.
Are Stephon and Jerry smart enough to learn from their mistakes?

Also, we need KJ this year! He is a HUGE missing piece to Quinn’s defense. Try to sign him to multiple years, but at least get him for 1 year. This could be the year.

Could we watch them play in Quinn’s D for a few games before we pass judgement?
No!
I’ve seen enough of Jaylon. He consistently reacts to the play after the snap, almost never before the snap. Good LBers have good instincts. Jaylon has poor instincts for an NFL LBer!

Doubtful he’ll ever be a Pro Bowler, but based on his salary, I think we’ll see him here for the next year or so. Longer, if Quinn can get a bounce back year from him.

Apples to grapenuts, Aria. Wright was the only player in the NFL last year w/ both 10 TFL's and 10 PD's. Dude is still balling. SEA is being forced to cut players to appease Wilson. And Wilson knoweth not for what he asketh.

The one that KJ Wright beats out.

I would sit Jaylon.
Also, Keanu Neal and LVE are not high priced.

You don’t use a 1st round pick or pay a guy $5 million to SIT on the bench.

Don’t let your zest for this move override reason.

If they want play 42-5/ 44-3 with 2 hibryd Olb/SS, Neal Kearsy and Jaylon, they Will play this role, 7 or 8 man vs run, and nickel vs pass
