According to Dallas reporters, including Jane, Dallas is coveting 3 players.
  • Cross, a future pro bowl left tackle in their opinion, and yes, he would plug in at guard this year, but it’s a pick for future years.
  • Drake London, WR who has unique size and skills not seen every year…..chain mover, Redzone, and gets downfield.
  • Penning….again, future left tackle….immediate guard….if Cross is gone.
Why top 14? Duh! Philly picks at 15! They don’t want Philly’s leftovers. They clearly covet these three guys and feel they will get one at 14.

I know there are fans here who want Williams, Olave, others. There are good route runners and those who can learn to be good route runners. There are quick, speedy WRs in every draft, and they are wonderful, but sounds like Dallas sees something rare in London.

And for those who hate wr in round 1. It’s the smart move if there’s someone there you love. Get a great one on a rookie contract you control for 4-5 years as wr contracts explode. This draft is much deeper in starting caliber guards than in franchise Left tackles or truly special ready to go WRs. Clearly, the Cowboys don’t want to just take a guard at 24 and be happy. Maybe get your LT and still get a guard later or a great wr and a starting guard later.
Dont even waste time plugging Cross at OG. Put him at RT, then sign a guy like Turner or Flowers to play LG

One scouting report on London...diva attitude. That never fits into the team concept. Cooper complained about targets and got sent packing. So lets bring in another.

4. DRAKE LONDON, Southern Cal (6-4, 213, no 40, 1): Third-year junior, three-year starter. “He’s so unique compared to these other guys,” one scout said. “He’s a problem because he’s a mismatch kind of player. If he doesn’t go Top 10 it’ll be very soon after.” Finished with 160 receptions in 27 games (23 starts) for 2,153 (13.5) and 15 TDs. “He’s a backboard,” the scout continued. “His catch radius is phenomenal. He can really go up and reel the ball in. He’s excellent on back-shoulder fades and posts, things he can use his body position. When he’s covered, he’s still open because of the radius and the length (33-inch arms) and his ability to play basketball in the red zone. Very forgiving target. He’s most similar to Mike Evans. I don’t know if he’s quite as fast as Evans but I’m not sure it really matters because he can do all the same things.” Was an outstanding basketball player at Moorpark, Calif., and even played two games for the USC basketball team after his freshman football campaign. “Intangibles aren’t awesome,” a second scout said. “It’s diva football character kind of deal. Coming off the injury. There have been some hits but there have been quite a few misses for the USC receiving corps.” Suffered an ankle injury after eight games in 2021 season and sat out the remainder of the season. Worked out for scouts April 15 in LA but didn’t run the 40. His speed was estimated by two scouts between 4.58 and 4.60. “His first three steps are explosive enough, but once he gets past five yards the lack of speed, you can see that,” a third scout said. “Everybody’s starting to **** on him because he didn’t run a 40. But he’s not getting out of the top 20.” Wonderlic of 19. “He can get off the jam but he can’t really get down the field,” a fourth scout said. “He can make acrobatic, over-the-top catches. He just has really unique skills, which he has to have because he’s not that fast.”

Hes not getting by Washington at 11
I don't know, last thing I heard yesterday is that teams see him more like a late teen early twenties pick. We'll see if one team takes him top 15, who knows.

I highly doubt they trade up for a WR. In fact, besides RB I'd eliminate WR as a trade up target. My guess is they're targeting Jordan Davis or Kyle Hamilton as players that can realistically be there at 14. Or some better player if he slips.

Notice 14 would put them in front of the Eagles but replacing the Ravens, who many mocks have link to Davis.

1) Jacksonville Jaguars
2) Detroit Lions
3) Houston Texans
4) New York Jets
5) New York Giants
6) Carolina Panthers
7) New York Giants (from Chicago Bears)
8) Atlanta Falcons
9) Seattle Seahawks (from Denver Broncos)
10) New York Jets (from Seattle Seahawks)
11) Washington Commanders
12) Minnesota Vikings
13) Houston Texans (from Cleveland Browns)
14) Baltimore Ravens
15) Philadelphia Eagles (from Miami Dolphins)
16) New Orleans Saints (from Indianapolis Colts through Philadelphia Eagles)
17) Los Angeles Chargers
18) Philadelphia Eagles (from New Orleans Saints)
19) New Orleans Saints (from Philadelphia Eagles)
20) Pittsburgh Steelers
21) New England Patriots
22) Green Bay Packers (from Las Vegas Raiders)
23) Arizona Cardinals
24) Dallas Cowboys

Best case scenario is if Davis is gone before 14, because I do think the Ravens would take him. Don't be surprised if the Giants take him at 7 or Wash. at 11. If he's off the board before 14, the Ravens would probably be a more willing trade up partner.

Mannn I love me some Jameson Williams. The kid has game changing speed.

My only gripe is, you're going to have 2 receivers coming off of ACL injuries and possibly not ready for week 1.

Gallup, Lamb and Williams would be a hell of a show to watch.

trading up for Jameson is light years better than doing the same for London.

Yeah, he's number 14 on the board I'm looking at too. Keep in mind he was in the mid to high 20s before he posted that 40 time. He rose due to the underwear Olympics.

The Giants like players like that. They drafted Dexter Lawrence ahead of time as well. Imagine Lawrence and that beast on the Giants? Even if he's a true late 1st rounder, he can still have some impact.

He always tells the truth. He isn't giving predictions. He is reporting what people tell him
He’s got a pretty bad rep around here for being reliable. I’ve watched him a few times and can’t get past his persona. To each his own.

Based on your recommendation I’ll try to not discount him so quickly. But it’ll be hard.
