you said "As I had been saying to some folks, the party that cares (or can afford to care the least) almost always has the leverage. Dak wants the Cowboys more than they want him."

And again this is simply not true...Dak knows he has what he wants in FA coming, the Cowboys can offer what ever they want to offer now and if Dak turns it down it simply means he knows he can get better in FA...The Cowboys will then be bidding against other teams in FA...how does any of this say "Dak wants the Cowboys more than they want him" he said no to the offer...use what ever names you want for Dak, what your saying still doesnt make sense...If the Cowboys were done then why is Dak playing this year? Why not just start Lance? If they think Dak is a "Loser" then why not watch him sit the bench before he leaves? Make no mistake Dak will leave before he signs a lesser deal than he knows he will get in FA...which also blows your theory out of the water..
Well, let me just say I was blocked from replying on the last thread so I'm not sure where we left off, but....

It IS true: The party who can afford to walk away from negotiations is the party with the leverage. This is negotiations 101 and so much of negotiating is each party posturing to seem as though they don't care. Do you refute this?

If not, who cares more about the contract? Dak or the Cowboys? I can tell you, there will be a sunrise tomorrow and the Dallas Cowboys will be here if the sun rises tomorrow. Dak is an employee and any employee is always nervous around performance evaluation and compensation time...even the best of them...for the simple fact you are NOT in control. Dak needs a new deal...the Cowboys need a new QB. The Cowboys have unlimited options and unlimited time...Dak does not. So he is the one with anxiety, not the Cowboys.

You keep imagining the Cowboys are going to get religion on Dak and somehow start negotiating after the season in some frantic bidding war. The ONLY way that happens is if Dak somehow plays above everyone's expectations...but right now Dak is a choker who is expecting to get paid better than Patrick Mahomes and cripple the cap for however long he wants to be signed. If Jerry does that, THEN Dak will have "all the leverage". But until Jerry signs Dak, who cares what Dak thinks or does? Only Dak fans.

Dak has no interest of being a bridge QB to develop his replacement. The funny thing is lots of fan that it was only about money. It clearly is not only about money.

Dak still has all the leverage and Jerry will be left stuck with Trance, a rookie QB, or a bet that no one wants.
IN YOUR EYES, Dak has the leverage. But I assure you, Jerry did not bend to Jimmy after 2 Super Bowls. He didn't bend to Emmitt after SB AND rushing title in the same season - pre free agency. Little known...but he also battled with Michael Irvin until right before the season on money. I could go on and on.

And now you think a 4 time choker in the playoffs and numerous regular season games against good teams...this guy has "leverage" on Jerry?

LOL...you guys make me laugh!!! The Dak love is strong...

How about the 70ish percent here that want to move on? Are they real?

lol
Well did you poll every member on this site? No. So that’s not real either. I don’t use anonymous polls opinions change when faces and names are attached then you get real opinions.

The Joneses have 4 days to get Dak extended, or he may play the season out. It’s like Dorothy looking at the hourglass winding down. It’s likely to be a very rough and bumpy road for the Cowboys in 2025 if he moves on. Not only will we be looking to replace him, but we could have a number of other free agents that could be gone, including DLaw. We better enjoy this season because it could be the last real competitive team we have for a while.

If at all possible, do a sign and trade after this season for picks. We could combine those picks to move up in the draft. Just thinking out loud here.

You and I have 4 years to spare - if we’re lucky. Jerry needs more than luck for a good 4 years.
yeah grim reaper is on his door step for sure. if you draft a Kid in top 3 rounds next year let him sit for 4 years he might be ready to go when dak is done :)

Get all the old time greats, and some QB workout coaches to get this guy ready sooner, ditch this old offense and find someone that can get this QB being great early!!! lol

Video starts at the relevant portion. Fish knows the Athletic reporter and that she has sources inside The Star. Essentially, it's not the APY that is the sticking issue, it's the Cowboys unwillingness to give Dak long-term security with the team.

As I had been saying to some folks, the party that cares (or can afford to care the least) almost always has the leverage. Dak wants the Cowboys more than they want him.

LOL. my dude that is nonsense.
Dak doesn't need the team at all.
He is getting paid every cent he is owed this year.
And then he could hit free agency as the biggest free agent in NFL history.
There is no way you guys are that unaware of reality.

So you're saying that the 70ish percent of respondents in the recent poll who voted Dak off the island are not real? They don't exist. The overwhelming ratio of No Dak vs Pro Dak is simply written off by you because of..... feelings?

Ok, then.

That’s not what I said but it’s fine if you think that poll validated your opinion that’s perfectly fine.
