As to Frederick, it appears from Ozzie in Baltimore that they would have taken Frederick at #32 if Dallas hadn't taken him. He was appartently ranked around the 20 spot on their board.
Value is in the team for any individual player regardless of what we fans think or what the so called experts think.
If Frederick starts the season as the starting center or guard and Romo isn't running for his life to make throws then I really don't care how good Floyd does or does not turn out to be. If Frederick is as good at anchoring the line and opening holes for the RB, does it really matter what the guys we didn't take do.
The value is in the eye of the beholder. If our running game gets better especially in the red zone and Romo has more time to throw out of the pocket instead of running around to make a throw then the value is far greater than anyone else we would have drafted at that spot.
If the snaps get to Romo quicker and not on the ground or over his head, then the value is much greater. Whether Frederick is ranked 1 or 99, it is the value to our team that counts not some experts value.

Based on my random survey of five teams, here is where Cowboys No. 1 Travis Frederick was on draft boards: 4th (1), 5th (2), 6 (1), 6-7 (1)

Slowest 40 time @ the combine in 20years
I could forgive the 40 time if he was strong.....But his bench press was only 21 reps. Which is below average
this may be the biggest reach in the Jones' era....
Ranks right up there with Shante Carver
DFWJC;5062960 said:So why not Sly Williams in the 20s and Frederick or Schwenke later?
Williams seemed like a great fit.

dart;5063670 said:my thoughts exactly
because according to Jerry we are fine on DL
Fredd;5063024 said:I am a little surprised (not upset) with taking Frederick (btw, I HAVE to like a guy with "fred" in his name, right?), but I am not upset at all that they didn't take Floyd. someone that falls that much is not worth the pick where the Cowboys had him available - something just didn't smell right (and not like the smell of Pugh for the giants )
Day two will obviously let us know if they have a plan or not as a FO...but, we were/are all clamoring for an improved offensive line, so let's embrace the improvement that Frederick will bring. He is a really smart guy to go along with his strengths. You need a guy at center that runs the show and helps to read the defenses. This guy can do that.

This board is so pathetic, it's not even funny. It's like people actually try to find ways to be miserable about this team. Why even root for the damn team if you're just gonna look for negative things every day?
