There is a lot of bull being shoveled here by folks outside of Valley Ranch; one outlet actually reports "several league sources (say) DeMarco is returning to the Cowboys.''

This would be news to Cowboys executives, who have no intention of being the market-setters on Murray. (Nor are they at all influenced by the huge-money deals being given Shady McCoy and others. McCoy and the Bills have agreed on a five-year deal featuring $26.5 mil total guaranteed ... or somewhere in the ballpark of the Jamaal Charles-level that Murray was already seeking in Dallas).

The lessons have been learned here and the parameters are being observed. In fact, our sources tell us not only are the Cowboys and Murray not negotiating a "done deal'' ... but that as of Sunday morning they hadn't even visited at all on the matter.

Everyone get used to it. Dallas isn't going to bend over and Murray is most likely going to leave.
There are lots of other RB's in the sea...Dallas will catch one, be sure!

Ray Rice (1 year older than Murray) too risky?

So we aren't going to bring Murray back and we aren't bringing in major defensive help?

IMO, the Cowboys have a range they will pay Murray, even if the Colts or Jax want to pay $9mm+ per year, I don't think the Cowboys will match from a team cap perspective. They will use that money to upgrade other positions.

We've spent the last couple seasons yelling at the jonses to show restraint when handing out contracts and yet this offseason has been filled with the folks ready to lose their mind if murray walks.

And why is that?

Because murray is a good blocker?

He knows the scheme?

I'm sure there are other reasons.

But let's not forget murrays best season came in his contract year.

I'm not totally against his return but I don't think dallas can't move on and continue to build on their success without him.

The Cowboys are doing the right thing.

He looked done his last season.

I don't have a clue, I thought I read something about Baltimore's line not being very good. Prove it contract with a 2nd year option could be worth a shot if he'd go for it but I'm just spitballing.

I wish Ryan Williams could step right in and we could use that cap room on improving the D.

Its gonna be interesting to see how things play out

Rumor is the Colts don't want him.

Baltimore's line looked just fine with Justin Forsett at RB.

It couldn't have been because the Oline made major improvement and the staff made a commitment to RUN the ball.
Romo had his best season, was he just helping Murray get a new contract? You know since it wasn't a contract year for himself.

So the guy who needed that all star o line is worth close to 10 mil a year?

I didn't say that. I said he was able to shine because of those things I listed. Apparently Romo did to. Because that running game sure benefited him.

Romo has been consistently good for almost a decade now.

He has a better team around him going into next season and that's why it should be easier to plug a new rb into the system. (Hopefully one with more speed)
