My girlfriend's son is 16 and many people would not believe what girls send him via text and other messaging methods. Girls send out provocative (to say the least) photos in group text messages. They compete to see who the boys will "grade" as the best photo for a specific body part or the best "action" video. I seems that many parents don't even care what their kids are doing and definitely are not talking to them about morality.

And that's your opinion and I will respect that. However, it is also my opinion that if you judge someone else based on your own PERSONAL beliefs, then you are doing a disservice to that person. You described a "crumbing society" which you clearly known and understand have morals that differ from your own. Why should it give you pause that somebody's actions go against your personal beliefs, despite falling in line with societal norms?

Because its risky behavior, i.e allegations of rape. And I don't think that running trains in hotel rooms it quite a societal norm.
 
What legally consenting adults do in their bedroom is their business.

So naturally, we must legislate it.

It is crazy and alarming at the same time, but I have learned the bigger a deal you make out of it, the worse it gets. The best thing to do is talk about it versus flipping out.

But your last point is important. Most parents are not equipped to be parents. Morality is just different. The big part is the lack of parenting and accountability.

If my kid turns out weird and I have a problem with their lifestyle choice, I better start looking at what I did versus whine and blame some sort of moral decay for the situation.

It's not risky behavior. Are you suggesting that engaging in a group sex act heightens the chance of rape, etc?

If you are, that's bizarre.

You know what else isn't a societal norm? Dipping French fries into ice cream. But I know someone who does that. I now have the unfortunate situation of explaining to her that she apparently has a character flaw because she does something that really isn't a societal norm.

That's very true, but I do believe environmental factors have some influence as well.
 
You know what else wasn't a societal norm for awhile? Being gay.

Guess those people have character flaws too.

And guess what, it has not been for a long time. It is not a recent phenomena.

People just are not afraid to talk about it anymore. I don't care for the constant barrage myself, but I am not going to delude myself to think it is like a sudden outbreak of the plague that just happened.
 
People have been doing perverted **** since the dawn of time.

The only difference between then and now is that it's easier to film and distribute

I find this kind of stuff nasty but let's not pretend that mankind's moral standards are suddenly declining

Definitely a character flaw.

Cowboys should put a spread out when they do their official visits and see what players eat and if they follow societal norms. So if that big DE from Arkansas puts ketchup on his bologna and cheese sandwich, he's off our ********* board.

Mixing ketchup with mayonnaise could lead to ranch dressing and even worse, thousand island. Mayonnaise is a gateway to other evil condiments.

A line must be drawn. There must be law and order.
