Maybe, but it could be Stephen is so terrible he has no other choice but to hire a GM. If we reach the depths of his capabilities or lack thereof we will be terrible for an extended stretch of time. Eventually the team will hemorrhage revenue as a result. Were already losing the younger fans, and it will get worse.

I'd rather him be a disaster than mediocre. At least being a disaster puts pressure on him.
As long as Dallas stays the most valuable franchise, I don't think Stephen will see reason to change. He's had all this time with his father "learning" to be the GM. Plus, he'd have to pay someone else to do the job and I don't think he wants to do that.

Next year? This has the potential to tank the next five years. A Schottenheimer and Dak era will be so bad and unwatchable that you have to watch just so you can laugh.
I dont think it will be any worse that 2024. The key is will jones boys do anything serious in FA.??
If not, what does it matter who the HC is ??????????????????

They could hire the lead waterboy or girl, and have similar results, and it would be really cheap !
Mike couldnt do anything with this lame roster, and neither will any other coach.

Shot will have a DC and should insist on a OC to help him.
Cowboys will continue to be relevant and talked about, so a win win for jones boys/

Deion could not change things here, and would be an idiot to come here or want his son drafted by cowboys.

I don’t know if Stephen has the charm or charisma, to do it like his father. I bet he crumbles from that pressure and look to someone else to do the job once Jerry is gone. But we will see.

We can only hope.

I happened to be listening to a couple of 9er sportscasters yesterday and they were laughing and joking about the possibility of Schottenheimer being the Cowboy's next HC. They went on in detail how this cat was a lousy OC and would make an even worse HC and are hoping that JJ hires him......... Time to move on from Marty's son.............

That's not even a question. Stephen has earned nothing. Jerry is an idiot, but at least he earned the money to buy the team. Stephen was born into it.
Yes but will Stephen go 30 years as a GM failure and still insist on not hiring a real one? That can be what separates him from his father. This clearly isn't working, let me bring someone in.

So there you go. You have Stephen and Dak tag teaming Jerry into making this decision. That's the reality of what's going on here.
They say whoever gets to him last, usually persuades Jerry to do what they want!!! Stephen and Dak will fight to tell Jerry who great Shotty is lol

I think revenue will go down as fan interests begins to waiver. They can't coast off of legacy forever.

If this ridiculous decision doesn't cause a revolt and move the needle, nothing ever will.

Fans will definitely revolt, unfortunately I think we're a few years away from moving the needle. We need Jerry dead and his bozo son to fail miserably for a few seasons before change is even a consideration. Imo.
