As dumb as it would be to give up a 1st for AD, I do agree with the concept that Hardy, McClain and AD makes us the title favorites.

If you think AP gets you to a SB. Would you trade a 1st rounder? Is a 1st rounder worth a SB?

I would trade the entire draft for a SB.:)

But the only reason you make a deal with AP right now, at his age, is if you think youre going to the SB. Making a SB run....

There are no guarantees, but you have to ....try. You have to take a risk.

Mike Ditka?
That you?

It would be flat out crazy to give a first round pick for a 30 yeard old RB, who has not played in a year. and i don't care who it is.i hope Jerry and his son are not that dumb.

what if he pretty much sealed a superbowl win for 2015?

I would give a first if he decided to play for like 5 mill a season, otherwise.....no!

I love AP's game but give me Hardy and Gordon and I will be a happy camper. Dallas needs Hardy 50 times more than Peterson right now.

I do think Hardy is more important...

But. I am obsessed with getting AP.

Just visualize it for a second. AP, lining up behind Romo, with Dez and Twill/Street. Witten at TE. And this Oline..... who they going to double? stack the box? Romo will eat them alive...

AP just barreling over that CB, after no one touching him for 7 yards, on his way to, 2k .....

It could go down as one of the best Offenses ever assembled...for a year or two....

I think Hardy and AP is a real possibility. I think the Vikings are playing the waiting game right now cuz what else are they going to do? I don't see them paying AP's salary this year knowing he's disgruntled, so they're just going to wait as long as possible to make a decision.

I think he eventually comes on the market and we'll be a real possibility. The waiting game might actually work in our favor because teams interested in him might already lock up their RB position leaving less competition for his services. I'm not exactly sure when they make a decision but if it's after the draft, i'd still take a RB in round 2-3, and let McFadden fight for his spot on the team. Carrying AP/McFadden/Rookie on the roster would give us plenty of depth, and let the rookie get his feet under him while sitting behind one of the best to play the position.

A lot of factors playing into that possibility, but I wouldn't put it out of the spectrum of reality. Definitely would not give a pick though.

I don't know why anyone thought AP would come cheap. The Vikings aren't just going to give him to us.

On 105.3 at 7:30 pm Dallas time, Mike Fisher was interviewed by the boys on the radio. He had a few things to say.

On how Jerry goes into a negotiations with a player, does he speak first or last or what?

In the case of Hardy, Jerry isn't speaking at all. The negotiations is being done by Stephen. And while some say this is a get together just to get to know each other, this is a serious negotiations. The coaches did their due diligence on watching tape. The Jones have done theirs by waiting and allowing the market place to calm down.

On Hardy's possible suspension.

The press is saying 6 games, but Fisher is hearing four. Which also has a hand in what Hardy will ultimately get.

One Hardy being a bad guy.

There are a lot of bad guys who haven't been caught yet. Let's say you are following team X, you don't know who they are because they just haven't been caught.

On a follow up question - do you mean something about a guy throwing up the X and his team.

No, some random team. It could be the Arizona Diamondbacks.

On the cap.

Fisher said he laughs at ESPN who suggest the Cowboys cannot sign Hardy. They have moves they haven't done as yet.

Rework Carr frees up 8 million. Rework Romo and they can get up to another 12 million. Bernadeau would give them 1 million.

So they could rework Carr, and deal with Bernadeau and have 9 million without touching Romo.

But they could get 1 million, 4 million from Romo is needed.

On what could they do with that money?

They could get AP. AP has met with the coaches and management and didnb't wealk away yelling Whoopie. So he is still out there.

"Fisher's Opinion" - you could give up a first and pay AP 20 million over two years - which you could afford, and that would make you the odds on favorite to win the NFC next year. Hell, AP could be the MVP.

But this team is not hamstrung by money.

This is a recap, but I am pretty positive I offered the spirit of his comments, and in some places his exact quote. Especially about AP.

Thanks for taking the time to recap for the rest of us, much appreciated!
