BP gambled on being short on tackles- Flo had started the last 6 years without injury serious enough to take him out. It LOOKED like somewhere you could take a chance.
BUT we got bad luck.

Flozell has singlehandedly stopped more drives for us the last two years than any other 3 players combined. Everytime I see a yellow hankie I just know that I'm gonna hear "False start #76...offense" or "Holding #76...offense". People saying he is a top 5 Left tackle makes me want to puke. If he isn't drive blocking someone he is worthless. Sometimes he is worthless doing that! :bang2:
Are you sure you're a Cowboys fan?! ANYONE who wears the "star" getting hurt IS NOT a "good thing".....get that weak sh*! outta here......

Terrible loss for the Cowboys. Hopefully someone can step up and be effective.

Commanders lost their RT (Jansen) last season and it was devastating. Protecting Brunell's blind side was left to the artifact known as Ray Brown.

I'm not sold going into season with 3 Tackles and 3 Safeties was wise - but hey to each his own.

Totally agree Nors. I couldn't understand why Parcells was aggressively backing up positions that were hurt last year when it's going to be a whole new set of injuries this year. Yeah, some guys are injury prone, but don't just spend extra cash on the positions that hurt you last year, it's going to be a whole new set of positions this year. Although, I'll say this for Parcells, I think he thought Rogers would be his starting right tackle, and Petitti would be a promising backup. Freaking Jacob Rogers and his brittle self ruined a lot of the depth issues.

youre a ******. flozell gets penalties, but at least he can still block pretty damn good most of the time. Tucker is gonna get these same penalties, except that HE CANT FREAKIN BLOCK!!! what the hell is wrong with you.

OK, here goes.

I am not too upset here. Will this injury hurt? Yes, it will, but I never thought we would be a playoff team this year to begin with. I sitll think we will be around .500. I believe long term, this injury will help the Cowboys finally find a long term answer at LT. I never liked Adams there. He needs to get motivated to play like he's paid. Short term, this could be real tough but long term, it will eventually build depth at LT. It could force us to draft a young LT and either move Adams or get him to step up. It's not the end of the world.

It will mean, IMO, that Pettite will probably be forced to get less help.

how was flo not the long term answer at LT? He made mistakes, but for the most part is a good player, and great when he wants to be. It's hilarious that people talk bad about him, but you'll see how important he was when we play without him. It's going to be a very long season for Bledsoe if he's always gotta watch his back, and could have a horrible effect on our team, and chances to win anything this year.

You're down on Flozell the Hotel, a former Pro Bowler, who lacks motivation and drive, yet you're okay replacing him with Torrin Tucker, a guy who has been known to take that lack of motivation and concentration to levels never seen before?

Flo, IMO, is not playing at a level that is compensitory to his salary. He's paid like a top LT. To me, it is only a matter of time before one of his blown assignments costs. That is my point of view. Hopefully, we will find a fix that alliviates this problem.

I don't have a problem with the conception that this injury will hurt us this season. I think that's basically acknowledged across the board. My view here is that we are not going to win the championship this year anyway. Better to solve this problem now then in a year or two when we actually might be contenders for a Superbowl. Honestly, is there anybody who thinks that Adams is the LT we need to solidify that position long term? He's a huge salary cap number. He doesn't play like he's paid. He constintly gets penalties and he blows assignments in both the passing and running game. Hopefully, this makes him step up or get moved. I just don't love Adams as a LT for us.

No. Tucker is what he is. He's not the long term solution either. However, this injury will likely force us to find one. I am not happy about the injury but injuries are part of the game. IMO, Adams was a liabilty to begin with. Now, we will be forced to address it rather then let it go for another year or two as we probably would have otherwise.

Well.... I was happy as hell with Flozell. Guy just flat-out dominated defensive linemen. He is the most dependable lineman guarding our QB's blindside, and he is the most dependable run blocker for our tailbacks. I can't believe people are actually glad he's out of the picture. This injury kills us. If I had to sell my soul to the devil to keep 3 players on the Cowboys injury free for an entire year, Flozell would be on that list. You better hope Torrin Tucker is the long-term solution because you're going to see a lot of games like last Sunday where our high-powered offense looks like a Quincy Carter or Chad Hutchinson offense against a weak secondary.

flo is a huge blow to the offense. more specifically to bledsoe. bledsoe is going to be making a lot more mistakes when he is getting a lot of pressure from his blindside. this changes the way we run our offense, imo. we will have to grind it out more.

Adams was not a liability in pass protection, but it sure is a mystery to me how he and LA could not pave the way for a running game, with the size of those two side by side.

Still Bledsoe has had a lot of time to pass and that has been the success of the offense. Time to see what tucker can do

I agree with you on the run blocking aspect of his performance. I don't agree on the pass blocking. Adams can be dominating at times. He has the physical ability to do this but he jumps more then he should. Also, sometimes he just flat gets beat. I can't explain why. It's like he losses concentration or something. Not really sure what to make of it but it does happen.

Man - some people have to get a grip. This is not a season ender. Flo was less than perfect. We weren't running the ball anywhere anyway and he already had a few jailbreaks at Bledsoe.

We are going to get by just fine.
