Should've never left San Antonio. Maybe Jerry will bring em back.

Get them to put together a facility with multiple grass fields and dorm rooms and lower the outside temps to 80 degrees. The alamodome situation wasn't a great fit.

Our draw here is huge. There is also comic con in San Diego this weekend just an FYI and there are thousands of people there. So this could be why attendance is down. Also there seemed to be a lot of traffic heading North so lots of people out of town. Drawing conclusions off of that is just silly and another attempt to make something out of nothing a story.

I can't see comic con taking that many NFL fans away.

Dude, it does not mean **** if there are not fans at training camp. The less the better IMO. Less distraction for the players. Training camp is not for a dog and pony show, it's for the Dallas Cowboys players to learn and get ready for the real games.

Tell that to Jerry. He never misses an opportunity to make a buck. He must be concerned even if the dollar amounts are small.

It was 72 in the Alamodome and they had all the room they needed.

Jerry is a billionaire. lol

If he is worried that some fans don't show up for a training camp so he can make a few thousands of dollars, I am willing to bet he won't file for bankruptcy.

You might be surprised. They type of people that hustle out to training camp and the type that hustle out to comic con aren't that different, especially if you consider some of both are parents ushering their kids around.

Even if the two are unrelated, let me know when the Cowboys aren't pulling in the viewer ship numbers.

Either way, I've always hated the "America's Team" garbage. I do not get off being a fan of a team "America" likes.

It's not good to practice on that artificial surface. Also, I think they like to have more than 1 field.

I say go back to St. Edwards in Austin. That's were Jimmy built the Super Bowl teams.

If I owned the team and was as rich as Jerry, I would run training camp in some remote place where nobody could see what the team looks like, not the fans, not the media, nothing. It would be nothing but football, period.

But, alas...I'm just a poor fan living in Utah and would not spend a dime going to training camp. Now, I just might go to a game this year at AT&T and that is going to cost me a lot of cake. Still making plans...:D

Too hot. Players lose focus quickly in that heat. That's why they moved to the Alamodome and then back to Oxnard. I agree with you on the artificial turf. Probably the main reason they still aren't in SA.

Their best years ever came after being in Austin for training camp. It wasn't too hot then.

Part of the reason they moved from there was the facilities were lacking. I was there back in 1992 before the 1st Jerry era Super Bowl. The crowds were really small which was good because they would have been overwhelmed with bigger crowds. I've seen middle school practice fields with bigger bleachers.

The Alamodome was much better in terms of accommodating large crowds but there's really only 1 field and it's the artificial surface. Moving the players between the Alamodome and the Hotel was a hassle.

The heat was even worst when the had TC in Wichita Falls.

I know a bunch of people who are down there that are huge football fans. Listen it's beautiful weather in CA we have concerts and events going on. Right now, a lot of people rather be out doing something rather then watching TC. I will bet as time goes on the crowds will fill.

Gotta say I can understand a drop in attendance. The "hamster wheel" record... the defense minus it's best 3 players. Romo coming off of back surgery. There's a lot of doubt out there and the team isn't considered one of the better in the NFL.

Hey it happens.

Dude, really? It's training camp.

I think one of the most pathetic things I saw was a live stream of people literally sprinting through the gates at Patriots training camp. To watch a bunch of guys practice/stretch/run drills?

This country has jumped the shark when it comes to pro football and Goodell and the owners are willing to keep on driving that train to the ground.

Oh, noze! The Cowboys are doomed! Doomed I tell you! I bet in the next 3 or 4 years nobody will ever follow the Cowboys. Poor Cowboys...

The Cowboys have been doomed, where have you been?

Who cares? The amount of people at a practice has nothing to do with the amount of work being accomplished. Wake me when this actually matters.

Hey it happens.

The biggest reason is more and more fans are reaching their breaking point with the owner.

Good points.

You may be on to something about people thinking the team will not be very good this year. Most of the predictions on Cowboy fan sites (including this one) have the Cowboys missing the playoffs.

That could be influencing the attendance numbers...........................good observation.

I have been here all along, and I will stay here because a Captain never gives up on his ship.

No one on this board, apparently, has given up on this ship. Otherwise, we'd never post. We simply want to win. Is that too much to ask?
