Flyer's 2 Hat Tricks Vs. Penquins

Bryz has not been the problem in the games we've lost this postseason. Some are too naive to see that or simply don't understand the game well enough.. but Bryz played very well last game. He was the only reason we didn't lose that game 10-1, because it very well could have gotten that ugly with how bad and lazy our skaters were playing.

He played a good first 2 periods. Then he reverted to the crap he's been most of the season.

The entire team sucked but that's rare. What isn't rare is how bad Bryz has been for most of the entire season. The guy had to rally just to get his save percentage over .900 and he's been even worse in the playoffs.

He is probably one of the most overpaid players I've ever seen in any sport.

I rest my case..

These are the same people who whine constantly about a player being overpaid.. like its the player's fault he took a contract offer from an owner who now hopefully knows why he should let the GM handle the team and keep his nose out of it.

:bang2: Phillies choked in play-offs, now the Flyers, typical.

Only down one game in the series.. pull it back a bit. We're a very young team. There are going to be hiccups. We've come from behind before, this series isn't over yet. We need to start working as hard in the defensive zone as we do in the offensive zone though.

This.

Consistency is the name of the game. His great second period effort was completely washed away with that horrible go ahead goal he allowed.

It's pretty clear the team doesn't have a ton of coincidence in him. When that happens you start pressing on offense which leads to chances going the other way.

Championship defense starts in the crease and works out from there.

That's complete crap. 2 of the 4 goals last game were a direct result of laziness in the defensive zone. One was a tap in by a player right in the crease completely unchecked.. and Kovy's goal he was left wide open and Giroux stopped skating back to try and lift the stick and just let him go.

Bryz hasn't been consistent enough, but if we work hard in the defensive zone, he's been good enough. He's the only reason game 2 wasn't 10-1 Devils.

The effort on the defensive-end have been horrible.

The forwards aren't coming back to help consistently enough.

Flyers are still, statistically, the best team in the 2012 Cup Playoffs on the man advantage.
They've scored 13 power play goals on 34 chances for a 38.2 percent conversion rate.

During the regular season, the Flyers were 3 for 33 on the power play against the Devils,
which computes to a 9% success rate.Through the first two games of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series,
the Flyers are 1 for 11, and, once again, converting just 9% of their opportunities.

Why should we expect anything better, considering the production is exactly the same from the
regular season through the first two games of the Devils series?

If they don't take advantage of the power play, they'll lose the series.

Lol.

You say its crap then agree with the point made. Championship goalies make the easy saves when they need to. He let in a softy with the game tied. Right through the legs. Championship tenders make that save in that situation. Sure, the team needs to tighten up in front of him but he has not come close to showing he has what it takes. One period out of three doesn't get it done. Not in the playoffs.

Possibly because they are selling out in the offensive end because they feel they have to score five goals to win.

Its complete crap to think that they have the mentality that they have to slack in the defensive end to try and get a quick offensive rush every time. The Flyers can score goals. They don't need to press or rush to do it. Its simply a lack of will and desire to play defense and to back check. When i see goals scored because forwards have stopped skating and are simply spectating the play, or when guys are wide open, unchecked on the doorstep, that's a pretty clear sign.

Blame it all on the goalie if you want.. but that's simply a cop out.

Bryz has been one of our worst players in the playoffs. He's just not a championship type goalie.

I remember when we signed him there was an article up on ESPN from one of their hockey guys about how overrated he is. Boy was he right.

You couldn't blame them if they do. I know I would have no confidence in my goaltender. You pretty much have to score 4 goals a game if you want any shot of advancing.

Can't blame Bryz on these last 2 games. The Devils are just beating us in all facets of the game. This series is going to end Tuesday night, unless the Flyers can figure out the Devils forecheck and get the puck out of there own end.

Oh, you have no idea, friend. A couple of these goofballs would find a way to blame Bryz if he faced 50 shots and 55 minutes of play was in the Flyers zone and they lost 1-0.

What's up with the disrespect? What are you? 12?
Lol

Clearly the Flyers suck across the board but the guy in net might be the worst of them all. Sure, you can't leave guys alone in the slot but "Bryz" is absolutely horrible with his awareness of what's going on around him. The tying and go ahead goals tonight were not entirely his fault but he seemed to have no idea the goal scorers were where they were. He was horribly slow in reacting to the pass everyone watching could see coming. On the winner he should have atttacked the shooter instead of hugging the post until it was to late and getting caught way back in the crease. He makes even one of those saves, bailing out his teammates, and things could have been different.
Yes the Flyers suck but Bryz is leading that parade and does not inspire confidence in anyone but the most delusional goofs.
