I don't know how much money the contract was for as it hasn't been released yet. I can say that if Jerry and Stephen
really want someone they can move contracts around to make it happen. They obviously didn't want to get into a bidding
war with the Chiefs. At least that's my opinion.

I don't think so. We don't have unlimited cap space to pay for a guy likely to hold a clipboard and spend weeks trying to
learn our system. It was inevitable that Foles would pick the Chiefs cause he knows the scheme and the coach. We probably
offered more money than he got so he really wanted to play for a team

So, we "don't have unlimited cap space" , but "if Jerry and Stephen really want someone they can move contracts around to make it happen".

Way to be consistant!

Are the Cowboys in danger of going down the same road as last year, Romo goes down and there is not backup QB that the coaches trust or knows Garrets system. Not sure what the answer is.

Going cheap on defense and not fixing the backup QB positions (Moore was not the fix) says a lot.

I definitely agree with the bolded, he had 1 game where Washington got out to a 21 point lead then allowed all type of garbage yardage to be accumulated and the front office declared him fit. In that game when it mattered he was 3-7 for 25 yards 1 int and a fumble. Talking about grasping for straws, I think whomever we acquire will be an upgrade over Moore. Just for reference that was the game that T. Will had a career day.

If what Foles got was too rich for the Joneses, then we are in trouble.

It really doesn't matter does it. Foles chose to go to the Chiefs and didn't want to come to the Cowboys.
The Cowboys haven't been too successful in enticing any QB's to come to Dallas this year. I don't think
the draw to America's team is that great any longer.

Bottom line, whatever the deal and whatever the reason, Foles didn't want to come to Dallas. Now laugh all you want.

The Chiefs probably have a better shot at the playoffs than the Cowboys. Can't blame him.

That's why I couldn't believe Jerry didn't fix the backup QB position in the offseason. It's like the Cowboys didn't learn anything from last year.

I know you and many others didn't like Moore being the backup but, Linehan and Garrett convinced the FO that he was their guy. If they really
wanted someone else, they could have overpaid and gotten someone. They wanted Moore and Jerry agreed.

I will. At your complete lack of clarity and consistency.

It would make for an extremely tricky negotiation. If he's going to give up his chance at free agency, he's going to want to get paid and have a commitment.
Yeah, but he's got to know that he's not considered a starter anywhere in the league at this point in his career.

You are correct there. Dallas has been beaten to the punch on every target.

We're gonna get abused on any trade we make. Teams know we're in desperation mode, way to go Jerry.

Yep. So I say don't make one. Go with the guys you previously believed in and wait for cuts. Don't get robbed.

That doesn't explain the interest in Matt Moore. If Kellen was "their guy" all along, they wouldn't have bothered to look outside at all.
